Forget Lescott, Terry, Albiol & the rest GET Oguchi Onyewu

I may be a bit of a homer with Oguchi, but I have seen him play a ton over here in the states and he is a load in the box. He is more physical than every striker I have seen him match up against, and he almost never loses a header or cross, and he is actually pretty quick for a guy his size. He does have a couple of knocks as in the past he has been out of position a time or two but a lot of that has changed since Howard took over in net and that may be the biggest reason for his sudden rise in performance. Also he has shown a massive improvement in the past few months of knowing exactly when to make moves to fill in behind the left and right back when they make runs and make early plays on the ball. He has also taking very well to the U.S. captain Carlos Bocanegra being out with injury leaving him to make a lot of the decision Carlos was making for the back line. Also very good on going up top on set pieces, like I said he is a load on cross and one on one match-ups. I think he would be a very high quality signing. One side note, for a guy who throws his weight around as much as he does on defense and more specifically in the box, he has amazing body control when it comes to giving up fouls.

No thanks. He had a great game today and is a good player but he's nowhere near as good as Lescott, Terry, Albiol or even what we have in Nedum, Kompany, and Dunne.

he would be a cheap signing if we tried to get him and it is always worth a shot especially with our lack of height basically everywhere on the pitch!

I like Gooch, was impressed recently when I heard he was taking legal action against a player in the Belguim league who repeatedly racially slurred him during a game (the ref would do nothing about it).

He is a decent player, big and strong, but he would never be a regular starter in the City revolution.

Why ? Surely if he is that good that would not be the case...

The Newcastle flop ?

yep....thats the one! twice the player of Lescott, Terry, Albiol, Nesta, Maldini in his prime, Carragher, Hierro, Moore, Beckenbauer......etc, this guy is the shiz, newcastle was just a blip, its a surprise nobody else is clamouring for his signiture!

I think it's a great idea to go after any player who plays OK in any freak result, anywhere in the world.

DJ Campbell anyone?

Fenerbache, Fulham and Birmingham all want him. I think Fulham has backed off but I wouldb't be surprised if they were inspired by his recent play. Him next to Kompany would be deadly. Lescott on the left and a RB to be determined.

Haha. Someone at work mentioned the Kazakhstan winger to me as he played well against England. Classic.

Right. So Fenerbache & Birmingham are after him. Must be top class.
