Pellegrini dropped a clanger taking off Navas imho too - he should 'come into his home' as the opposition tire, but he was off after 55 minutes when he definitely wasn't playing worse than others, and at least has a bit of pace about him - leaving us to pursue the same failed tactics from last season once he'd gone.
All very disappointing but hopefully lessons learned for Pellegrini. Goalie, left back and commanding centre half needed
Saw the same thing too many times last season. Passed it around all match and tried to go for it when it was too late. We need to learn to go for it from the first minute like we did v Newcastle. Hangover from last season or residual trait? And they hardly played us off the park either. Two away goals and better defending and we would have picked up the points.
But I do criticise us for our lack of intensity. Last 5 minutes, when the penny had dropped that we had fucked it right up, we upped the pace, played with urgency and scored easily. We would have gone on to score more but ran out of time. Why oh fucking why did we have to wait 91 minutes to see that response???!!

We dominated merely because Cardiff defended deep and were quite happy for us to pas the fucking thing sideways to a team mate 5 yards apart - dontmatter how long you have it if you play like this
