I suppose if they make a first team squad they must count, like Simon Royce, Tim Flowers or John Deehan who was at city for a few years - as they would have had reserve games in those days.
Earl Barret left for £15k if I remember correctly from City reserves to Oldham, then £500k sell on, so hardly peanuts. Those days if you didn't make the first team you got far less money, and clubs couldn't afford 4 centre backs on decent money.

Gary Megson had turned into a bit of boo-boy at City, We finally offloaded him to Norwich City and he promptly smashed a header in from a corner about 3 games into the new season with his new club - Night game around 92/93 which we won 3-1.
