can't see us getting bale,to upset arry we would have to hijack a target of his, i say forlan.

or we nick arteta from gollum.

In all fairness I think we could pretty much sign ANYONE and it would upset Harry and he would subsequently come out and claim that that player had almost signed a deal with Spurs but the City came and blew him out of the water.

If we sign six new players means only 19 of our current squad is going to make the 25 we are allowed. Leaving aside the kids

Given
Hart
3rd keeper

Zabaletta
Richards
Toure
Lescott
Kompany
Bridge
Ned

SWP
A J
MJ
Barry
NDJ
Bellars
Ireland

Tevez
Ade
RSC

A total of 20 players, plus the six new arrivals equals 26 which means one player is definitely on his way out, Ned has almost burned his bridges with the club, so if we do let, Richards, Ireland, and Bellamy go it seems to me we will need 3 players to replace them. Making a total of nine signings.

Your thinking is sound but with some of the names that have been mentioned we have to assume a few more squad players will be leaving either permanently or on loan than you are suggesting. Also several promising youth players that have already featured last season and shown they are good enough will become more active members of the squad.

RSC will be surplus to requirements (Always injured), Ned has made it clear that he wants to move on and play regular and that he hates the manager (so will be sold unfortunately)

I think MJ will be sent out on loan - to Newcastle, Sunderland, Birmmmigham or similar for 6 months at least maybe the full season to try and get some fitness and form back. At the end of the day he has played hardly any football over the last 2 seasons so we cant assume he will be a first team regular even in the cups. So this is what I think will happen this summer :

Academy progression to first team squad / cup squad

Abdisalam Ibrahim
Dedryck Boyata
Vladimir Weiss

Release / Out of contract

Marton Fulop
Sylvinho
Petrov
Patrick Vieira
Benjani Mwaruwari

Loan

Greg Cunningham
Javan Vidal
Michael Johnson
Alex Tchuimeni-Nimely

Sell

Javier Garrido
Shaleum Logan
Nedum Onuoha
Kelvin Etuhu
Valeri Bojinov
Felipe Caicedo

Roque Santa Cruz

That would mean we would be signing 5 new players this summer our squad would be :

Given
Hart
Nielsen

Zabaletta
Richards
Toure
Lescott
Kompany
Boyata
Bridge
+ NEW LEFT BACK

SWP
A J
Barry
NDJ
Ibrahim
Weiss
Bellars
Ireland
+ NEW CREATIVE MIDFIELD
+ NEW CENTRE MIDFIELD
+ NEW WINGER

Tevez
Ade
+ NEW FORWARD

Squad of 25 players.

5 new signings, core first team squad from last season retained, 5 out of contract players released, 4 young / promising players loaned out, 8 players sold.

Less upheval than last summer (but not much) to be expected with a new manager. Clear out the remaining cocks and deadwood pretty clear to me that if this is what happens we will be significantly stronger next season than we were.

Goalkeepers -
Hart, Given & Taylor
Defenders -
NEW RB (Boateng), Kompany, Lescott, NEW LB (Luiz), Zabaleta, Richards, Toure, Onuoha, Bridge
Midfielders -
A.Johnson, NEW CM (Milner), Barry, NEW LM (Bale or Young), Wright-Phillips, De Jong, M.Johnson, Ireland, Bellamy
Strikers -
Tevez, NEW CF (Dzeko), Adebayor, Santa Cruz

Youth players -
Trippier, Boyata, Cunningham, Weiss, Ibrahim, Nimley, Ball

You can class Bellers as a forward or a midfield player. Might be able to say the same about the winger and or creative midfielder we sign as well....

THe big variable in all this is players like Richards and Ireland. THe fans, club and probably the manager want them to stay. But they want to play every game - which clearly isnt going to happen.

I hope we can find a way to keep them happy otherwise we will have to get better replacements for them as well and then you are into another full on overhaul of the squad which obviously we dont want.

As much as it pains me to say it I cant see anyway Nedum will be at the club come the start of the season.

We need to make sure he goes somewhere semi shit though Sunderland, Newcastle, Fulham, Birmmigham those sort of clubs. He is a quality player and selling him will come back to haunt us.

Also feel he shouldnt be sold for less than £7 million with another 2 - 3 million in addons based on apperances and success ashe is a quality player and given the chance to play regular will turn out to be one of the best English right backs in the league.

Given Arsenal are reluctant sellers I think they will string the Fabregas deal out for a while to get nearer €70m - that's not consistent with Yaya moving in the next couple of days - so I'm not sure he is going to Arsenal.

I think Barca are trying for that and Arsenal are happy with him and around £35 milion. But the player doesnt want to go there as they are not willing to pay anything like we are offering in wages.

Would rather have Masc from Liverpool anyway but I fear Barca will get Masc and Torres and we will get Ibra and Toure with the fees we pay effectively covering the cost of Masc and Torres.....

But only time will tell. Yaya is a quality player definately improve what we already have.
