Really odd the stick some players get, especially home grown lads or though and through blues (Edgehill, David Brightwell).
Think you mean magic.People's hair back then was absolutely tragic
I remember distinctly as a kid blokes around me would say as TT was about to shoot "back of the Platt Lane"From a very early age I can remember Ian bowyer and tony towers as the first boo boys
Spot on!Tony was shat on from a great height by Big Malc when Marsh arrived.
Towers had been immense all through that season and guess who got dropped from the team to make way for Marsh with only a few games remaining and we were top of the old 1st Division.. yep Tony T.
We lost the league narrowly to Derby but had Malcolm not been so stubborn, we could have won the league.
Is he back round New Moston?See Tony knocking about regularly. He's a tight get...)
He did.Went to the 74 League Cup Final against Wolves as a young lad….(although it was my third visit in 3 years) we were regular visitors then.
The announcer at Wembley announced City’s substitute as Frank Carrocious !
He also used to play for Old Alts on Saturdays, played against him many times.Played football against Frank in the Wythenshawe Sunday league late 1980’s.
He played for Timperley CC if my memory serves.
I see him in Radcliffe and whitefield although it's been a few months so maybe. Is he back round New Moston?
He did play for Timperley my farther in law ran Heys Albion he and Frank got on very wellPlayed football against Frank in the Wythenshawe Sunday league late 1980’s.
He played for Timperley CC if my memory serves.
Had a Frank Carrodus hairstyle myself then (I've got a Pep now without going near a barber) :)Think you mean magic.
He played a few games for Brum towards the end of his careerI thought frank played for Villa, not Birmingham?
I liked Tony Towers and was sorry we let him go. I say I liked him. I have to say that wasn't universal. He got the same stick as Ian Bowyer. We had an elderly element of Maine Road blue (we still have) for whom certain players can do no right. Ian Mellor was another victim. I was really pleased Bowyer won the European Cup and Towers won England caps. But there were city attendees that really only seemed to enjoy assassinating our players particularly home grown.

I think he went the other way when we bought Tueart and Horswill.Didnt TT assist in Tuearts transfer
If my memory serves me correctly, I’m sure Towers and Horswill were involved in an altercation that resulted in Towers being sent off in the first game of the cup tie. With TT and horswill at similar valuation even though TT miles better making tuearts value appear lower? Or is my memory failing me
