fred eyre on talksport now

He's a bit downbeat is Fred but I think that's part of his charm. Reminds me of The Glums (if you remember them) He could win the bloody lottery and tell you the worlds falling in. He's just got a deadpan sense of humour. True blue though.

Let's see how this season pans out.

So far, so good...

you calling someone else snidey last week is somehwat contrary though isn't it - rather then saying what a good job Mancini has done you say lets see how the season pans out - a rather sinidey comment that. Lets just hope the rate of improvement continues - first tropy since 1976 and highest league position since 1977 in his first full season, followed by 7 wins and a draw out of 8 this season is pretty fucking good so far isnt it?

As for Fred Eyre I am glad I get to most away games as I prefer to watch the game on teletext rather than listen to that morose fucker. He also doesn't half pick on players - over the years I have regularly heard hin get on the backs of Richards, Boateng, Malotelli, Elano, Robinho and many more.

As regards Nigel bloody Gleghorn why Radio MANCHESTER employ someone who slags us off big time, and for whom we are at best his third favourite club after sunderland and stoke I will never know - its not as if he is even eloquent or knowledgeable, is there really nobody Bluer and Better out there than him cos he fails at all levels

Undoubtedly he is very knowledgeable about football and City, but I cannot be doing with his punditry. Sure, you're not going to agree with everything, but that dour style of delivery just makes me really depressed. Even when he praises City, his delivery makes it sound like criticism. Reminds me of Marvin from Hitch Hikers Guide (tv series).

He makes Geoff Boycott seem like Timmy Mallet.

Fred Eyre is the worst pundit I have ever heard! A city fan? Blimey you would think he was a closet rag if you didn't know.

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Fred at our hotel pre-semi final against the Rags (GMR were broadcasting live). Sat with us for a couple of hours, his anecdotes and knowledge of all things blue had us spellbound and misty eyed.

Top bloke, top blue and anyone who questions this knows jack shit..

A number of people on this forum don't seem to understand the difference between critical appraisal and "slagging off".

They are both paid to give a critical appraisal, not to be a cheerleader.

Oh, and every one of the players you mention has been fully deserving of criticism on many occasions in the past. Some of us don't want some braindead muppet telling us how wonderful our players are at all times. We want them to be like us, and watch and analyse the game.

-- Mon Oct 17, 2011 3:17 pm --

He sat in a hotel? When City were playing at WEmbley?

You'll be telling me he critisized Hart's sliced clearance late in that game next.

The fucking rag-loving cheese-eating snidey City-hating moaning slagging-off piece of turd.

Viva The Bluemoon Battalion. War is our business.

The thing about Fred is that whilst he may be (very) negative at times, you never for one second doubt that he wants City to do well, in fact his negativity is just because he wants us to be (even) better. With Gleghorn I never really get that feeling at all.

I would imagine the Bluemoon Commando Faction want a co-commentator who waves a banana, sings "We're not really here" and abuses the away fans throughout the game.
I hear we're recruiting someone from the North Korean Ministry of Propaganda. He'll be up to the job.

I thought I was a tub thumper blindy following the majority of sheep on here...

agree totally with DD and others, I know fred personally...every loss is a pain in his heart, his blood runs blue! He gets pissed off with players who don t put a shift in! quite rightly so!

He knows a hell of a lot more than most on here about football and city. Fred doesn t say what your average 15 year old "fan" on here wants to hear, because nowadays on here these 15 year old fans cry when we lose draw or don t win by a margin of 4 or more!

You start by saying you agree with him and then quote his reactions. Odd.

You're the Minister of War for the Bluemoon Commando Division.

Actually, I possibly do you a disservice. I haven't seen you get too involved in the Reds Under The Beds wars which are waged on a daily basis on this forum.

You need to write a few emails to media outlets or something.

I don't get involved in all that.

Just watching 6 of the best and they only show two of our goals. Rag wankers. We scored 4.

Spot on. I also know Fred personally, he was a mate of my Dad's and I have a chat with him from time to time. He is 100% Blue and an absolute gentleman. Ok not everyone will agree with his opinion (although I would say he has it right 99% of the time) or how he puts it across but you cannot question his love of City. Hate it on here when people start slagging others off for no justifiable reason.

too right robsta, makes me ill when i see negative threads slagging the likes of the gallagher brothers off and ricky hatton! all Top blues! don t understand it..maybe its a jealousy thing!

Fred & Nigel - the deadly duo - that half an hour after the game with them in full flow on GMR has resulted in me getting two speeding fines on Oldham Road. At least Cheeseman adds a little depth.

Jimmy Armfield is the best non-aligned radio pundit I think, his views on the balance of artists and soldiers in the City side is spot on IMO.
