I don't think we have to worry about a wages battle with United over Fred.

Even they wouldn't go to £500,000 a Week.

We'll match United's wages for Fred. And we'll throw in Pep, Fern, Jesus, Ederson, Danilo, a Brazilian family, and the PL Title.

Of course when Fred does sign for City, United's PR team will be briefing their media contacts across the World that United never wanted him.
He can't play the Piano. They'd have nothing to work with.

The only issue with him for me is the lack of height. Ferny makes a huge contribution aerially despite not being particularly tall but Fred unless he has springs for legs will lose most aerial battles. Pep clearly not too concerned.

Pep goes on and on about the importance of challenging for duels and then goes out and signs a tiny DM who doesn’t seem to be play anything at all like Fernandinho...the thing I’m buzzing most about this one is seeing what new tricks Pep has up his sleeve. From where I stand Fernandinho plays about as optimally in our system as you can expect for that role.

I’m not sure there will be a manger in my life time that ever comes close to matching Pep. He’s so far ahead of the game. The safe play is to find someone that resembles Fern as an eventual replacement but the real next level play is to abdandon what’s working exceptionally well and Change it up completely. As teams start to play catch up and figure out adjustments to our system we’re already onto the next stage while they’re scratching their heads and still trying to adapt!

Don' have stats for the Ukrainian league but in the last 5 seasons in Europe he's won 1 header.

Good point that, lad.

I know this will get some flak, but I don't think Dihno plays "about as optimally in our system as anyone can expect." I think he is superior in the air but quite weak under pressure and his passing can be quite wayward at times.

So you f a team chooses to press us hard and often, Dihno is one of the weak points in that press. Thankfully though, the addition of Laporte and Zinchencko has made pressing us that much harder.

Now if we can find a young player with most of Dihno's defensive skills, but more cultured under pressure, such a player will potentially surpass Dihno at the DM position.
