They get the odd one of those in Kahrkiv, so I don't think he'll be too fazed by it.

I imagine they do, its hard to get a dry rainy night ;-)

It was pretty cold in December when I was there, and there are bits of Kharkiv that make Stoke look like Kensington.

I'm sure he'll cope fine, its not like he'll have to live in Stoke, or even visit for more than a few hours, and they might get relegated anyway.
