Had my lap top stolen the other day and I need a new one. Someone's just told me that some mobile phone companies offer a free laptop if you take up a contract with them for a mobile. ???????

Any advice? Cheers

I did get some money off the house insurance but I also need a new mobile as mine's on its last legs. I'm thinking I could kill two birds with one stone. The laptops can't be THAT bad can they?

They are just v basic- Depends what you need it for. Check specs before committing. Not really up to speed for gaming but ok for internet, word etc. Certainly better than a ZX81 !!!! Showing my age now !

Make sure it has WiFi, mine doesn't hence the dongle

System Addict in Heywood are selling Grade A(not a mark on them) second hand laptops for £185

Presume it's safe to go to Vodafone these days? If you get a Nokia summit summit whatever, you get a second one free on Pay as you Go. Not a bad deal.

Micro Direct are sh1te. I bought a motherboard from them and a ram slot was faulty. I sent it back to get repaired and the said it was ready. I said I could pick it up from their shop and the guy said he would get someone to drop it off at the store so I coupld pick it up before the Liverpool game. I went in only to be told that it wasn't there after 10 mins of looking I left. Called them on the Monday and they asked why I never came into the shop. I said that is was and it wasn't there only to be told that the guy that dropped it of was standing there and he said that he did drop it off. I asked for a refund but I was sent the motherboard.

This was an online purchase so maybe the instore buying is a better option.
