Shocking ignorance but what really to expect?
Shortly for educational purposes: Poland was the only country occupied by Germans where there was instant death penalty for helping the Jews. Instant means families and individuals were being shot at the scene together with those hidden Jews of course.
Despite that we are still a nation with largest numbers of people honoured by Righteous Among the Nations medal (honorific used by the State of Israel to describe non-Jews who risked their lives during the Holocaust to save Jews from extermination by the Nazis.)

How British people would react in such horrific circumstances? Maybe like those on Guernsey?
Quite possibly looking at the contemporary young generation who is afraid to stand up on football game because of stewards or is happy to fight with flying glasses only and very brave but behind the police officers backs...
About the Pussy Riot banner...
If you really wanted to put political statement against Putin why didn`t your banner mention Mikhail Khodorkovsky, Anna Politkovskaya, Alexander Litvinenko, Mikhail Kosenko or hundreds people who really paid the price (including life)? Instead you chose to praise a band who used blasphemy to express their views and because of that gained much more enemies than friends in country like Russia? Your message will not bring any consolation to majority of interested people (those who struggle under Putin). Simple as that. I understand it feels great to do something out of order, especially on sanitized English stadiums but that was completely pointless move from political and ideological point of view.
That`s just my opinion. No need for names or anything like that. Join discussion, ask question if you like but don`t call me names in internet cause its weak.

UEFA - yeah hit Schalke with a big fine, rip down banners calling for justice and tolerance - and then only pay lip service to racism. What a lovely progressive organisation of free loaders with their snouts in the trough.
