***UPDATE ON EVENT IN NEXT POST****

I’ve been writing a series of articles on the pioneering Manchester Corinthians. The latest talks of the day Bert Trautmann asked the pioneering women’s team to go to Germany

He risked a ban to promote the team. A pioneer himself in lots of ways but this one often gets ignored.

Doing anything next Wednesday afternoon and in the Tameside area? I'll be talking about this tour and Trautmann’s role in it at Ashton. See:

It’ll be great to see a few there.

If you’re doing nothing tomorrow….

I’m doing a free talk at Manchester Central Library on the pioneering women’s team the Manchester Corinthians. I’ll also have the book discounted to £20 (from £25) for anyone who comes along. So, a free talk and a discount!

Details of the talk here:

Already there are over 50 there and it’ll be great to see a few friendly faces.
