Free the steak pie 1

To be fair theres nothing worse than people shuffling in and trying to get to seats during a silence, its happened a few times and pisses people off. Its easier to just get to seats 10 minutes before kick off, I just skipped a beer Yesterday so I could pay my respects.
We only just got there in time but we were in time

Whilst I am not defending the actions of the stewards as they are a mixture of useless and jobsworths, but if your BIL was stood in a box he knew he wasn't supposed to be stood in, and was asked to move, wouldn't it have been much easier and avoided all this if he just moved?

You're never going to win with people in these kind of "authority" positions. There's no reasoning, even if you are in the right. Up there with traffic wardens.

Hopefully common sense prevails over the next day or two and it blows over.

It’s supposed to be the zone where, if you had alcohol, you’d technically be classed as being able to see the pitch, which isn’t allowed. Legally, eating a pie would be fine. If stewards are now being told that the club has its own rule (separate from the alcohol consumption law) which means they want to keep this section clear at all times for health and safety reasons, then the club should make that clear.

Otherwise, it remains a grey area where some stewards will allow it (I’ve stood there many times with my hand outside the area holding a pint, stepped out to take a sip, then back in again to catch the first minutes of the second half with no issues, as it’s only the alcohol they’re concerned about), and some won’t. This makes it unfair on the matchgoer to have to rely on whichever steward happens to be on duty that day, rather than having a clear, consistent rule.

That's the crux of it - something I've learned as I've got older and experienced many bans/evictions for whatever reasons, some fair some not so much. You can't argue even if you're in the right, not just at football but with anyone with these low level positions of acting with authority on behalf of others. You just have to shut the fuck up and do as told, unfortunately.

Always cunts with me when I’m watching highlights at the end when most have gone and they insist I leave ( few minutes left at the most but no you have to go or watch on the concourse where everyone is leaving) …. Sarcy as fuck waving goodbye …. They fucking hate us

Brother in law got booted out just after half time yesterday, he’d gone back to his seat & it was pissing down, there was about 2-3 inches of water around our feet so we said let’s go back to the concourse & give it 5 minutes
Anyway, I was watching through the gap in the screen & he was stood watching the game eating a steak pie, in the grey box area that’s painted on the floor at every entrance, he must’ve been 2ft inside it & not blocking the entrance/exit in any way, neither was he drinking any alcohol.
Stewards started getting a bit tetchy with him & he said he just wanted to watch the game, wasn’t drinking or causing any safety issues, and to my knowledge wasn’t being lairy or anything, for reasons unknown he decided that was the hill, told the steward to get his boss as he couldn’t/wouldn't answer why he was asking him to move.
He told me the steward sneakily elbowed him, so he asked him to back up and said not to touch him, he was then surrounded by several stewards & asked to leave, he stood his ground & asked for a reason why (he wasn’t standing in the box at this time, he’d moved out of it) and they wouldn’t give him one.
Then the police got involved and the steward played the old ‘he’s been abusive to staff card’ after 10 minutes of back & forwards.
In the end he just gave up & walked, he’s told me he can’t be assed anymore & he’s chucking it in, I told him it was all a bit silly & he’ll be back next game, but he’s adamant he’s done, me…I would’ve just moved, no sense in getting chucked out of a big game for that
Was this In east stand level 3 near block 308 ??

The should start playing automatically when fans stand in the grey box.

But it’s a square, not a triangle.

Where City fans disappear.

Doesn't really matter if you have a pint or a steak pie, that area is surely kept clear to allow other people to enter and leave to stand. If people want to watch the game stay in the ground, don't block the exit.
