The depth of YOUNG talent we have is very impressive ! Give most of these guys a couple of years under our first team and they'll be putting them under real pressure.

Think SWP had done more than enough to justify his squad position for the coming season.

I'd also make a bet that Suarez will play for the first time at some point this season (Carling Cup ?).

I've never seen such a bunch of composed teenagers when they are on the ball, They all make Nervous Neddy look like he's got the shakes !

If I was still living in the UK I'd watch these guys every week.

Now, for tomorrow and Inter, are we going to go with a first 11 except Kun & Tevez ?

The game was so much better when more of the little whipper snappers came on! They are all still in nappies but completely dominated possession. 2nd half we must have had 75-80% of the ball. What was very striking is the way Suarez and Roman actively seek the space. To be doing that at their age is very, very promising. Special mention for Razak too, who controlled the midfield from start to finish.

It's going to be so exciting to watch these players grow.

I was very impressed with the youngsters today, especially Suarez, Rekik when he came on also looked very promising he seemed a lot older than 16.
Juan Angel Roman looked good too. I think Suarez will definately feature for citys first team this season, most likely in the carling cup.

Mancini will definately start with his strongest team against Inter, and then bring on some of the younger lads later in the game.

Sorry to say, they are not good enough for Carling Cup by their own, need senior player to lead the line.

We will have 25 senior players to choose from. The Carling Cup side will be a healthy mix of squad players and these kids.

Suarez looks very impressive. Always moving into space, always wanting the ball and his passing looks pretty good as is his vision and decent pace. High hopes for him.

Really love how Savic plays and reads the game. Can't find this sort of classy defender these days imo. Very bright future ahead of this smart boy.

A very composed performance. Didn't panic at 0-0 at half time.

MotM? For me Barry (sorry SWP)

Must do better award? John Guidetti

second half was a joy to watch if only to see the youngsters we read about every day but don't get to see too often.

If I had to rate our prospects on I'd have to put Razak at the top.

-- Sat Jul 30, 2011 11:04 am --

yes, he looks very good in...space and time.

Agreed. I like our plan of buying young stars for the first team, and youngsters to put pressure on them in the future. Mancini is building the type of club that could potentially dominate Europe. Very exciting indeed! Razak was especially impressive today

Have to agree, Savic looks like he could be the bargain of the transfer window.
Great performance from the rest of the youngsters too, the future looks deeecent!

The first half was honestly the most boring game of football that I think that I've ever witnessed.

Second half was great.

I've been raving about Razak for a while, so I'll leave that side of things, but I was mightily impressed against with Suarez who looks a hell of a player.

The young Italian who scored (Scapuzzi)...well, I know this is going to sound awfully convenient, but he reminded me of a young Roberto Mancini. Not in his body shape or anything, but just his speed of thought and lightness of touch. He seemed almost light years ahead of the Irish lads at parts. Now, this will almost certainly be due to tiredness so late in the game and the difference in quality, but movement is movement and I'm impressed with him. Definitely worth a 2 year deal and £1m, if just to see him over the long term in the EDS.

In the EDS, we've got Bunn there and probably Guidetti. Nimley is knocking around but seems to be injured a lot. Not sure who's getting bumped up from the U18s to the EDS over the course of the pre-season. Devantee Cole said the other day that he's getting bumped up to the U18s and last season Bunn played for both, so there's a possibility there. Andrea Mancini can play up front and Denis Suarez is sort of an attacker. Maybe we'll be fine, but this Scapuzzi lad was respected in the Milan youth team, so he might be worth a punt as our 3rd or 4th in the EDS (presuming that I'm not forgetting anyone), especially as the NextGen starts this season

nextgen i think will be played by guys born in 1993 and 1994.

or at least this is what inter is going to do.

Razak deserves a special mention, very de jong like.

aside from playing CM I think he is a different player than De Jong, today he looked comfortable dribbling the ball forward, has a pretty spectacular range of passing, and isn't afraid to have a go at goal.

The one real disappointment for me was Boyata.

Gave the ball away far too often and didn't look good defensively if he wants to fulfil the promise he has shown in the past he needs to get his act together. I appreciate players can mature at different times the thing is he has an opportunity to play in a great side but he has to show that he wants it more than he has this pre-season
