No Eto'o or Sneijder in Inter's starting 11, meaning we have them to look forward to tomorrow!

The one real disappointment for me was Boyata.

Gave the ball away far too often and didn't look good defensively if he wants to fulfil the promise he has shown in the past he needs to get his act together. I appreciate players can mature at different times the thing is he has an opportunity to play in a great side but he has to show that he wants it more than he has this pre-season

he's always been shit RB but as a CB he is good aerially but is miles worse than someone like Lescott, for example, with the ball at his feet.

Decent 2nd half. SWP seems to recognise that he's in the last chance saloon & he's doing something about it, I wish I could say the same about Johnson though........ what the fuck has happened to him? I know he's had an injury not so long ago, but he'd gone off the boil long before then and is showing no signs of improvement.

I was particularly impressed with Savic who never put a foot wrong and looked really comfortable on the ball and even more impressed with Rekik when he came on for the last 20 minutes, he looked like a young Paolo Maldini!!!

Razak looks promising, but needs to be more composed on the ball when under pressure. When given time he looked very good though, but when pressurised, he seemed to panic and either play the wrong ball or have to get into a battle with the opposing player to retain possession. Guidetti was disappointing though and based on what I've seen of him over the last two seasons, I seriously wouldn't want to go into the season with him as the fourth striker. If Tevez leaves, we need a better replacement than Guidetti.

PS: The interviewer asked AJ about the coming season & being linked with a move away and he looked very sheepish and said 'you'd have to asked those above me what their plans are for me in the coming season. Other people make the speculation, but us players just get on with it' At no point did he sound positive about his chance of regular football nor did he mention when given the chance of wanting to stay and fight for his place.........

PPS: Mancini has just said that Johnson is staying, but SWP didn't play much last season and if looks like this season will be much the same, so "We'll have to see if he stays"!!! Mmm...........

A very composed performance. Didn't panic at 0-0 at half time.

MotM? For me Barry (sorry SWP)

Must do better award? John Guidetti

Sorry, but "Must Do Better" goes to Boyata and Weiss. A tie!

Boyata seems TOO comfortable, like he's ahead of his similar aged compatriots and a good reason why 'Nervous Ned'(as the stupid OP puts it) should be retained.

And Weiss?? Well, that was shocking!! Shaken by a few boos from the few Celtic fans out there? Couldn't beat his first man? Seen as SWP's replacement?? Not based on that crap!!

Sort it, lad, or be sold! After all, this kid is the one would hyped himself! Ronaldo MKII??

Don't make me laugh...

Really love how Savic plays and reads the game. Can't find this sort of classy defender these days imo. Very bright future ahead of this smart boy.

he got caught out once or twice though .....

one first half long ball , that went straight over his head , should have resulted in a goal .... it didn't because the irish striker lurkin' behind him was half asleep!

he's only 20, mistakes are part of the learning curve

The first half was honestly the most boring game of football that I think that I've ever witnessed.

Second half was great.

I've been raving about Razak for a while, so I'll leave that side of things, but I was mightily impressed against with Suarez who looks a hell of a player.

The young Italian who scored (Scapuzzi)...well, I know this is going to sound awfully convenient, but he reminded me of a young Roberto Mancini. Not in his body shape or anything, but just his speed of thought and lightness of touch. He seemed almost light years ahead of the Irish lads at parts. Now, this will almost certainly be due to tiredness so late in the game and the difference in quality, but movement is movement and I'm impressed with him. Definitely worth a 2 year deal and £1m, if just to see him over the long term in the EDS.

In the EDS, we've got Bunn there and probably Guidetti. Nimley is knocking around but seems to be injured a lot. Not sure who's getting bumped up from the U18s to the EDS over the course of the pre-season. Devantee Cole said the other day that he's getting bumped up to the U18s and last season Bunn played for both, so there's a possibility there. Andrea Mancini can play up front and Denis Suarez is sort of an attacker. Maybe we'll be fine, but this Scapuzzi lad was respected in the Milan youth team, so he might be worth a punt as our 3rd or 4th in the EDS (presuming that I'm not forgetting anyone), especially as the NextGen starts this season

I take it you've never been to a game in Scotland then?

Good OP.

Quality of opposition today was poor but this did give Mancini the chance to play some of the youngsters. Inter will be different and so it should be.

Of the youngsters on show I though Suarez was head and shoulders above all others as he constantly looked for the ball and used it well when he had it. Rekik performed very well and looked comfortable on the ball at left back and at only 16 has plenty of time to improve and challenge for a first team place.

Looking forward to the Nextgen home game v Barcelona 15 September. Should be a good football match to watch whatever the result.

Or to a game in the glorious Stuart Pearce era.

"Stupid OP" ? eh ! hmmmmm ..... I think if you take a vote you'll find the majority believe Ned has no composure on the ball !

I'm a massive fan of one of those boys out there today and I was hoping he'd impress but he just didn't... and that was Weiss. I still think he'd progress better if he spent a season with us and working with our team, but there was a lot of room for improvment for him today.

Despite only a small amount of time on the pitch Suarez and Roman, the two spaniards, they look really switched on, particularly Suarez. Was impressive to say the least how much of the ball we had in the second half. Not bad from the kids.

Also, sweet finishes from SWP and AJ!

In regards that finish from SWP, anyone else agree that if Shrek or any other of the media darlings had that sweet of a strike it would be all over SSN tonight ? that was a seriously top class finish !

Not thrilled with that performance if I'm honest.

Too few of the young lads stepped up.

Savic was disappointing, Johnson too.

Guidetti, Mcgivern have confirmed to me that they are unable to make it at this level.

I still have hopes for Weiss.

It was only because of Barry - man of the match - that we earned the right to dominate possession. And only through SWP, that we had bite going forward.

Razak looks like he has good feet, but I'm not sure he has the ability to control a game. But I'd definitely give him time.

Suarez looks like he has a good brain, but I'm not sure he's enough of an athlete to make it here. Nor do I think he has the feet to make up for that deficiency.

Juan Roman, though I hear good things, is still to convince me.

The highlight for me was Rekik. Looks assured and sharp.

SWP must play against United, though. Even when he came on against them in the semi, he skinned Evra, but was simply unable to pick out the right pass when he should have. In this form though, I suspect that should not be a problem.

Yeah great finish! He did it twice too, shame he was offside for his second.
