A battle of Britain in the terribly named Phones4U Arena on November 23rd

I think Groves is a great fighter but stepping in to the ring with Froch is a bad idea at this point in his career. Anyway press conference today and they had a little exchange when squaring up

Froch v Groves: The exchange in full

F: Your breath stinks
G: You fall apart in fights
F: I don't fall apart
G: I've seen you fall apart
F: You've seen it?
F: You know how I box, you've seen who I've fought. You shouldn't have been stood here today.
G: I'm stood here right now
F: Big mistake. Big, big mistake.
G: We'll see
F: Yeah we will see. You're going to learn a very valuable lesson. A lesson about respect.
F: You cant take a shot here. You cant even take a shot. You'll get knocked out, simple as that. You know it and all. It's that look in your eyes. I can see it. You've got the face of a worried man, haven't you?
G: Good luck, Carl

Can I only see this going one way. Froch to win by KO. I do like Groves tho but can't help but think he's took this fight a bit too early.

I fucking hate the ginger haired, squeaky voiced, know nothing, ex Arsenal faced ****.

Sorry, wrong Groves.

I think Froch will win inside the distance and Groves should conduct himself a bit better, Froch has been there and done that, has fought everyone, not ducked anybody, so for that he should get respect and not have some little cockney scroat calling him every name under the sun. Groves should trash talk people like Degale or save it until he has actually won something worth talking about.

Very impressed how you managed to hear all that, especially the breathe comment. Here it is anyway

I actually do agree with Froch,Groves is talking as though he is a run of the mill fighter and showing him very little respect.

Groves is a good fighter. I think this fight could well go down as a classic British fight. Groves has a good trainer in Adam Booth who will get him in the shape of his life for this fight. I love Froch think he is a fighter that will go down with the greats of boxing from the UK up there with the Benns , Eubanks and Calzaghes thats how highly I rate Froch. Took the harder fights and I would even have him up there in the top spot or close to it. IF he wins and beats Andre Ward and Golovkin then he will be the best fighter of all time from this side of the world.
As for this fight it will be interesting. Groves has a world title in him. Got a decent chin on him and he can bang a bit. To be honest its going to be a lot closer with Froch winning on points and with a rematch to happen another time I wouldnt be shocked. He has the arrogance does Groves as does Froch we know Froch can back it up but this will show just how good Groves is. I honestly think this is 1 of the hardest divisions to win a World title in. Along with the Super Bamtamweights as it is stacked with good fighters.
Froch saying he will retire if he gets beaten as well. I like the way he is thinking. I will retire once I get beaten again. Its like he is now fighting for his life and since then he was brillaint against Bute and Kessiler so this is something of a smaller fight. I just hope Froch doesnt take Groves with a pinch of salt and think all he needs to do is turn up as that will backfire.
Also with Adam Booth involved the undercard could be decent. IF Lee wins at the end of the month expect him back in fighting a eliminator fight for a World title maybe against Barker on this card.

I agree if he beats Ward in a rematch (a huge if) he will go down as the greatest British fighter of his generation, maybe of all time, in my opinion. Never ducked anyone, hasnt fought average fighters (or greats seriously over the hill) to keep his '0' and hasnt been afraid to go abroad to secure the biggest names. A bit of a throw back in that sense and deserves all the plaudits he is finally getting.

Super mid is a good division, and i would add 140-147 as a hot division/weight range - so many good fights to be made between those 2 divisions, Matthysse Garcia was a cracking fight, JMM, Pacman, FMJ, Khan, Peterson, Alavardo, Brook, Bradley, Alexander just off the top of my head.

Groves split from Adam Booth recently. Think it only came out in the news yesterday tho.

Groves is capable of giving a good account of himself, no doubt about that, as leighton suggests he'll be in great shape with a well thought out plan too, but this is Froch, and he is one tough lad to put off his own game, that's before we even begin to talk about the difference in class and past opposition, so, Froch for me all day long, can see him wearing him down and finishing it around 9-10.

Nice lad in real life Froch btw, not many pro boxers would pull over on the hard shoulder to help a broken-down random stranger and offer a tow.

Should be a cracker of a fight this. I rate Froch very highly and think he goes about things in the right way. The build up will always see a slagging match, makes it more interesting. I'm sure Groves has a lot of respect for what Froch has done. Froch to win this one though but probably will go the distance.

Total mismatch, much too early for Groves to be at this level.

This wont go beyond R5 and Sky whack it on pay-per-view at £14.95, cheeky fuckers.

Don't believe the hype Froch will smash him all over, the only chance groves has is if Froch takes him lightly, and him and McCracken are too professional for that.

Shocked that Groves split from Booth. A big what the fuck as Booth has been good in his corner. Who he gets in to replace him will be a major talking point. On the build up to a huge fight its weird that a fighter decides to get rid of his trainer normally after the fight. Maybe Groves is pissed off with Haye getting all the priority I dont know. Weird move.

When groves fought de gale he seemed the inferior man to me, danced around a lot and won a very sneaky victory if I remember. I am no expert on boxing but I would have though Froch would absolutely smash him to bits.

Thats boxing for you its about hitting and not getting hit back. He boxed well that night and DeGale didnt do a lot on the night. DeGale didnt do a lot on and its been a while since I seen him fight that he didnt throw his punches well enough for me. Always wanted to see Groves and DeGale up against Darren Sutterland when they were younger its a shame Darren took his life as he at the time was the more dangerous fighter and puncher. A sad sad loss that was.

The Courtyard on Chester Street will be showing the fight. I think i'll get in there early and watch the undercard fights, which should be good as well.
