All look genuinely devastated. Unsurprising really.

I am genuinely upset for the lad. I think that was Groves' and his missus and they both looked terribly upset.

Froch appeared to have a problem with his mouth; I do hope it's broken, but sadly it did not stop him from spewing shite at the end.

Do they not do standing counts any more? If they do the ref should have just given Groves a standing count then realised he was ok to carry on. He was totally with it when the ref was stopping it.

You're right. If groves had gone down (as froch did in the 1st), or taken a knee he would of had a standing 8 count then been back in the fight.

Yep, Groves was perhaps a little bit naive in not doing this, although he had given so much by this time, and was probably not thinking too clearly.

Not sure you can say they or we are mugs. Without the payers there wouldn't be a decent stream.

Well he's not right because they don't do standing counts in professional boxing.

If he'd gone down on a knee it would have been a knockdown not a standing count and cost him a point.

In what way? Do you think he would have won from the point where it was stopped? If anything the ref did Groves a favour in the long run, he won a lot of sympathy and fair few new fans I would say.

Well we'll never know but I thought he'd taken everything Groves could throw (which was a hell of a lot) and was in the ascendancy.
Either way it was a great battle and the rematch will sell out whatever venue they decide on, not that I'll be shelling out mind.

He was bossing the fight, he was well ahead and it was the first time he looked shaky. He had Froch in the same position several times.

He was bossing the fight, he was well ahead and it was the first time he looked shaky. He had Froch in the same position several times.

He had been bossing the fight but he wasn't at the time, surely you could see it was turning in favour of Froch, it needed something special from Froch to win it but imo it was coming. The ref ruined it no mistake but I still think Groves will benefit from that terrible decision in the long run.

Gutted for groves, I think he would of survived the round and lost on those dodgy judges score cards but deserved the win. That's my opinion. Sure some people think froch was getting the upper hand and would of won on stoppage soon after the actual stoppge, but defo ref stopped it too soon and now we'll never know, didn't pay for it and won't pay for the rematch but will watch it thanks to shady the legend
