Going on a xmas do at the Frog and Bucket in a few weeks. I haven't been before, so just wondering what its like? I've been to the comedy store, but from what i hear the F&B is a bit more down to earth.

Yeah much more down to earth than the CS. You sit around tables like a pub and i advise you to buy pitchers of beer (saves the embarrasment of the comedian ripping into you if you get up to go to the bar).

Theres also mezzanine level and its best to sit near the balustrade up there or you struggle to see the acts.

For some reason, even tho you've booked and got your tickets in hand they will still make you queue up outside, they tend to let one party in at a time and let them get settled before the next one is allowed in......(we have a couple of beers across the road at the Crown & Kettle and dash over when theres no queue.)

Have always had a good time at the F&B and the "disco" after is a laugh as everyone is so pissed from just sitting and drinking for 2/3 hours previous.

It's top mate. A proper raw, bearpit of a comedy club, unlike the corporate vibe of the Comedy Store and Jongleurs. Often around Xmas you'll get some surprise acts turn up. Seen Coogan and Kay here
