The most worrying thing about that report was that it was just about football gambling. But imagine that the same mechanisms that allow this level of secrecy get up to in more serious parts of the economy? Shell companies and hidden owners hiding corruption all over the place. Western companies using plausible deniability to buy up half of the corruptly-sold natural resources of Africa, for example.
