Surely this is the game where we realise things have to change?

Genuine questions:

In the last 10 years have we had a more shite winger than Savinho?

In the last 10 years have we had a worst defender than Nunes?

In the last 10 years, have we seen a City team so mentally weak?

The basis of a good team is there, but we can't manage more than 50 minutes a game, and every game we have 3 or 4 players going missing.

Spot on. Barely anyone in the squad up for a fight.

Have to address this very soon otherwise a further slide in form is inevitable

I reckon tonight and the last few weeks are more a reflection of the weight of our ridiculous schedule and our poor luck with injuries early in the season (which prevented regular rotation) than necessarily our actual ability to control games or our mentality. Tired bodies and minds, not incompetence.

And, of course, any side is going to miss their Ballon d’Or winner, much less one of the best defensive midfielders to ever play the game, in a league that has become all about power, pace, and stamina.

All-in-all, I am personally not overly worried, as I think some of our fringe players will come good, and Foden, Haaland, and Doku are all starting to hit holiday form at the same time, which will see us do well into the new year.

Just my perspective through sky blue coloured specs, of course!

Gvardiol, Nunes and Stones did everything possible to make it a contest
 
I’m convinced our players are taught to make themselves as small as possible when defending. Not one player attempts to put a block, they just stick their hands behind their back and turn away to make themselves as small as possible. It’s embarrassing.

Moronic statement of the night - so far. But you'll have a few contenders before the evening's out.

Shouldn't need to spell it out but we're closer to the top than at any point this season.

Rodri can't be back quick enough though to help these out. We really lack any control in between the defensive and midfield area where he excels so well. Donnaruma has to do better with some of the crosses and even the Gvardiol clearance at the end.

I thought stones was going to come on for bernardo and help nico shore up the middle. Then Nick went off ans I was like WTF did you just do?
Cherki can keep the ball, he came on way too late.
