I suppose the only good thing compared to last year is that we aren't losing those games where we absolutely bottle it.

Because we set-up totally differently that afternoon/evening/morning (can't remember which cos of the fuckin around with fixtures times these days).
We stayed tight and controlled - which is everything we weren't tonight

He shouldn't have been brought on in the first place. Our defence was being overrun by Fulham and Pep brings on a winger and an attacking midfielder!

Not much Donnarumma could have done with any of the goals except maybe Fulham's second.

Nunes battled hard but was weak on occasion and gifted Fulham the ball for that goal they clawed back at the start.

Dias too deep all the time. Gvardiol not bad imo and things steadied when he went out to full-back.

O'Reilly gave it everything but needs a break. Nico was fine. Game got worse after he was taken off.

Reijnders had a strong first half and a weak second. Foden should have been given MOTM, not Haaland, who stood still in the second half while Fulham built attacks around him. Doku shouldn't have gone off because then all our threat on the break went with him.

Can't get a consistent 90 mins out of any of this lot.

This might be our biggest problem and it is becoming unsolvable. He really needs to play in the system when we are off the ball. He doesn't and its a major problem

His shot was going miles wide and took a huge deflection. He general passing and decision making is awful.

Still, where did the ball end up? Don't we always say shoot and hope for some luck? He's a fast skillful forward he's always going to make bad decisions it's how it works with wingers.

Ruben Dias was fucking atrocious, one of our "captains" apparently, He's a complete wet wipe! No desire to out his body on the line, atrocious aerial ability and he's constantly playing people on fucking side!

He needs dropping and fast. Play Khusanov ffs at least the lad will put his fucking boot in.

If you’re happy with that you need to have a word with yourself, our midfield and defence are terrible at defending and taking hold of a game especially in the second half. Pep is to blame for those subs unless Nico was injured Silva should’ve come off.
I’m glad we got over the line but Arsenal will piss this league if we carry on like this.

In Pep's defense I thought Nico had his worse game for a while tonight. Lad's only one whose not had a rest last few games. Looked dead on his feet. Silva should of been dragged for Cherki after they bagged that second.

Are we actually any better than we were last season?

Not sure we are. We’ve spent a lot of money but we still need another midfielder, defensively we’re still all over the place and we only seem capable of putting together a good 30, 35 minutes in a game.

Foden getting back towards his best is obviously a big positive and Haaland is playing at a different level from last season.

But we don’t appear coherent or solid as a team and the squad is undeniably lacking quality.

Our tactical system is also broken, and that has nothing to do with individual talent. Our press is the worst in the league. Our movement and passing out of the back lacks structure. You don't need to buy players to fix those.

part of the reason the press aint working tonight was reijnders....he wasnt doing anything....

And whoever plays wide right doesnt press either - it is tactical but its also down to individuals

Agree on the passing out from the back - the goalkeeper doesnt help (predicted over the summer multiple times) and again where is the midfield...I noticed foden dropping dep at one point in the first half to help this...but what about Reijnders again...and Bernardo tonight (though was he wide right at that point...possibly)
