Fulham (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

It was a headshaker. We went from joyous Poznan in the stands to biting our nails off in the space of 20 minutes. Bonkers game.

At least we won the 2 games though. Regardless of the problems we have which are clear, we are winning when last year we were losing.
I really think we should only be doing the Poznan on 90 minutes if we are 6-0 up.

We were being too harsh on Reijnders. He has better numbers than Szoboszlai who is getting praised all the time. But seriously, fuck Savinho! As soon as he came in, our game completely collapsed. Cherki (until last 10mins) & Marmoush on the bench while 31yo Silva playing full game week in, week out. Also, our defence is an utter shite. Sort it out Pep!

Weird game. I think one of the key factors were the timings of the goals. City go 3 up and fulham pull one back almost immediately and just before half time. So their team talk is get the next goal second half, changes are made. Then city get 2 quickies second half half with 35 mins to go. Fulham get another back very quickly. Still 30 mins to play. So then turns into a gung ho free for all. Strange set of circumstances and shows us that no team lies down in this league. However if City had scored there 4th in the 69th minute and 5th after 75 fulham wouldn't have gained the impetus. Anyway whatever we won . Ctid .

He was terrible again.
I was getting pelters on here for the last two years saying he's absolutely shite, it's worse he's getting too.

Bang average centre back, Kyle Walker playing at right back made Dias look alot better than what he was as Walker gave him so much protection.

Truth be told, Dias is a complete fanny.

will they though...

that performance will only encourage and show teams that if they put us under pressure we fold....

No team is perfect this season. Every team has faults.

We're 2nd, 2 points behind and the leagues top scorers.

We can get better and history shows we play better as the season goes on.

Pep can't win.

People on here were moaning that the possession based football was boring and no fun any more.

Now there's moaning that we don't play possession football.
I can't speak for other posters.

I love possession based football, its intelligent and incredibly tough to do, absolutely nothing boring about it when played in the correct manner.

Even by our long chequered crazy history that was completely barmy. I know we got the three points but im not sure if that performance was a good or bad thing for our confidence. I mean if you can't relax, control and enjoy a game when you're 5-1 up when can you?? It should have been simple and Fulham should have been shit scared of trying to pull it back for fear of getting totally humiliated. Instead they could have easily drawn if not won it! Our non existent midfield, pressing, closing players down and composure was absolutely criminal. It was schoolboy stuff. That game, in spite of our five goals will have given every single one of our future opponents a huge lift. I mean we're not going to score five goals every game are we, but we sure look like conceding five. It's baffling. How do we sort it out? I have no idea but we absolutely have to.
Every time Fulham went attacking, our defenders forgot how to defend and put Gigi on a shooting range.

What’s he said ?
Emotion. Fine divides in a crazy game. Kovacic and Rodri injured. And no replacement for Gonzalez. A new and young team (O'Reilly and Cherki). He was very animated.

A lesson for the future.

Foden is extraordinary and is back. Haaland is incredible. Or words to such effect.

Rodri will be back soon. He's thinking about O'Reilly at dm. Pep thinks Reijnders is more of an attacking midfielder.

Jesus that was a strange game. Clinical with 4 great finishes and more than a bit of luck for the 5th because that was going out for a throw in.

Probably would’ve done cherki for Doku at that point rather then Savinho, but I reckon Pep thought it was like for like and with a 3 goal cushion it was done so some no-pressure football might do him good. It that wasn’t to be.

Credit to Fulham, they capitalised once we hit the complacency button again. Weird how when we take our foot off it we just can’t really get going again. Scary times towards the end even though Erling hit the post again.

Much, much tougher game on Saturday but if we want to be in the mix come the end of the season we need to give them a slap.

3 points, an end to end game and we’re somehow still up there.

Up the fucking blues
