from what little i have seen of him on loan at West Ham and Ipswich, to say he hasnt looked good would be very generous. I think he needs to rebuild his confidence as a player probably at a Championship club, Leeds would be the ideal destination, once they are relegated.

I was thinking pretty much the same thing.I think Fulham got lucky with three of their goals. The ball dropped to a Fulham player who had a clear shot at goal. They could have blazed them into the Thames but hit all three very sweetly. And had Erl's inside post efforts bounce in and not out we have 'em 7-4, which I think would be about right!
Two defections and a punch all could have gone anywhere.
The concern was the lack of a player or two covering the penalty spot in those instances.
Imho of course.
Arteta didnt get a card on Sunday for kicking the ball awayWhy was that a booking? With all the balls around the pitch it didn't delay the restart. (But the Leeds goalie didn't get a card for receiving the ball for a goal kick and running away from the goal area.)

Why not give Kalvin Phillips a 30 minutes run when our midfielders are getting tired? Surely he is better than many others in the league.
Ipswich Town couldn't wait for him to leave.

Why the club and Pep have this major problem is beyond me, We have everything money can buy, The best manager in the world, The Etihad campus, The best treatment/recovery rooms. So why does nobody want to sign and come play the fullbacks roles ?
Look, it's not cheap buying world-class players, but we have a very good young squad and with a couple of new signings City will be in the race for titles and silverware every season, How hard is it to sell the club to the best fullbacks ? Just buy the best, even if it costs over the market value you will get it back in prize money alone
Yep, if you don't buy real quality you won't see any quality football out on the pitch ..... you need players who can make a difference ...... humdrum, average players never won anything unless they had the help of quality!
Leicesters title winning team was full of average players, who most people didn't even know were there ..... but they also had top talents, and match winners like Mahrez and Vardy !

When Doku started he was much the same. A pair of us was giving Doku MotM sometime last season and the guy in front of us couldn't believe it. He thought about Doku as most think now about Savinho. I hope he'll bounce on until teams are putting two or three markers on him like Jezzer.The trouble is with Savinho is that, although he gets it right every now and again, he appears to have more bad games than good ones....and that's just not good enough if you're chasing titles.

Having reflected a bit after the game last night I think we should all calm down a bit.
For 60 minutes we were really good. 5-1 up and cruising
Fulham could have tried to limit the damage by playing deep but they chose to go all out with no pressure at all.
Their subs brought a lot of energy, created a lot of chaos and every shot went in.
Fair play to them...
Its not something that happens often but credit to Fulham and their manager.
The result was what mattered.

Crazy fooking game. Went from thinking in the first 10 we'd be beat to feeling we'd coast to- HMMM... at 5-3, then on the edge of my seat with 10 to go and then behind the couch in extra time.
I'm not going to be that guy and analyze every poor play or that we conceded so many to even allow it to be a contest when we were up 5-1. TBH I Was pretty chuffed at 5-1 as it's the first time (at that point) our lads looked at ease. The implosion
A lot of games- I'll chalk it up to a need of rotation and and essentially being 2 major pieces short in midfield to aid that rotation. To be fair- we closed it out, took the 3. We were a goal conceded away from really being embarrassed. When you take all 3 points- it's simply not "a win that feel like a loss." Pep I'm sure was furious in the post game talk- but to a man every player left there possibly with a better lesson than if they won 5 or more to 1. Maybe it will teach them to close things out- not to FUCK AROUND with the ball in the box and to BOOT it route 1 when there's the first chance with a few to play.
Fulham at 15th will take point off a ton of teams and will finish easily in the top half. The have a smooth patch of games ahead. They are well coached and well balanced and I wish we'd had the bollocks to get agent Rudy in to help sign Chukwueze.
Shout to Erl for his 100th and his sweet assist. Big shout to Phil the sniper CAT for shaking off last season.
O'Reilly is a gem, Nico G is really looking the part.
Nunes had a few stellar and a few old school Nunes moment last night.
Shout to Rudy for the goal but he's disappearing on defense.
Donna needs to drop the all Italia bread and pasta and adopt the ERL diet and muscle/ toughen up a bit. Opposition knows he's sus on corners.
Question mark award goes to Bernie (whom I rarely have ever slagged off) as to me last night he looked like he needs a few weeks in a bariatric chamber. He looked old and tired.
Dog house award goes to Savi- aside from the assist which I'll applaud- I simply do not rate him and his sauntering around in the box instead of closing down cost us another goal and thankfully this time not 2 points a'la his Arsenal performance.
I hope the physios have crafted a special recovery brew and regimen as Sunderland will not be easy and given our Leverkusen laid egg we are pressed to show up for Real.

Pep (and Spurs) seems to believe he has real talent but just needs confidence to bring it out. I’ve lost track of the number of players who have got pelters on here early on but turned out to be seriously good.When Doku started he was much the same. Reijnders is the current butt for some yet he was considered the best midfielder in Italy two years ago and last year second only to McTominay.
The PL (and Pep) are hard to adapt to. Fans need to show a modicum of patience. Tbf, Savinho has not been great.

Watched it. Every one of their four goals had similar aspects. Cut-backs/corners with deep runners in literally acres of space without a City player within yards. We defended in a line quite deep and invited them on to the ball. Unfortunately for us each of their finishes were wonderful but that doesn’t change the fact that our midfield was either too deep or not engaged. We have to find a way to defend the space immediately in front of the penalty box.On another night Haaland puts us 0-1 up with his first chance that hit the post and nothing else that happens after that occurs and the game ends up a boring 0-1 win and nobody mentions Kalvin Phillips maybe being an answer or Pep needing sacking. Yet we’d not have ended up with one of the great games of football this decade.
It was just one of those once-every-five-years mad games that was all about great attacking moves and cracking goals. It doesn’t need overanalysing, just watch the full game back and enjoy it.
Pep said something interesting in his post match interview and it was that games like Leeds and last night are a good learning experience for a young side, with some who are new to this league. He has a point.
For a team in transition, who don't forget lost world class experienced players like Gundogan, De Bruyne, Walker and Ederson and you might as well add Rodri to that list we're doing okay.
Everybody now says that Arsenal are the battle hardened finished article who have added vast talent and experience to their squad. That is absolutely true and therefore you have to wonder if they don't win the league this year when will they? There is also a but coming and here it is. In spite of all this and our inconsistencies due to being a team in transition, they can't shake us off, not fully. Given what's happened to them in the past this will start playing on their minds. If we can stay within five points or less from them coming into January, when Rodri might come back fit and we could possibly strengthen, their arses will start to go.

Attempting to make some offhanded comment on the state of our standards and then lumping Kalvin and Grealish simultaneously into said comment is more than a tad daft.It shows how low our standards have fallen, people on here are praying for Calvin Phillips to start against Sunderland, and for Grealish to come back.
Once Gonzales and Doku went off everything after that for me is irrelevant! Pep teams mainly work with a 6 once he went off we were all over the place it was like the other players were clueless in stopping the midfield of Fulham! Plus 2/3 of Fulham’s goals were great!
