Fulham (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

11 shots on target and 9 goals across both teams. This game was an outlier statistically and it does not follow that future games involving City will be like this. Yes we need to tighten up at the back, but we are scoring goals and look dangerous. Teams will not look forward to playing us right now. Interesting times.

Unfortunately it’s not just the age thing now although that is part of it. Health wise but I’ll go as often as I can.
Dunnie Monster was my absolute hero and even John Boy doesn’t beat him. :-) :-)
Of course, going to a match can’t be easy, especially in the winter. Only you know when you can’t do it health wise but don’t make yourself ill trying to make it when you’re not well enough. I thought you meant leaving Bluemoon:) I make very few matches these days due to caring commitments and shift work. But it doesn’t make my love for City any less than a match going supporter.

Was just hearing Blue Moon Podcast and this guest speaker said.. We're returning to TYPICAL CITY in the 90's when we don't know what the hell is going on!

I couldn't post earlier in this thread since I was hyperventilating..

But I honestly don't know what's more scary..

90 minutes at Craven Cottage or 90 minutes at the Bernabeau

At least we have an appetizer of what's to come!
If we are 7 goals up and Mbappe pulls one back on 45 mins, the 2nd half will be the Alamo meets Rorke’s drift

I would leave Phil and Doku around the halfway line which would force a team to leave at least three defenders near them. Add in the corner taker and keeper and it means opposing teams would only have six players in the box marked by eight plus a keeper
We did that under Hughes when we left Robinho Sweep and Ireland on the halfway line. I remember thinking if the other side were smart they’d play short corner and have an overload

I wouldn't prioritise the CL, we're miles away from winning that, unless of course we prioritise merely for the extra revenue each round brings.
I'm afraid a top four finish and maybe a cup is the best we can hope for this season.
Agree, Sadly I don't think Arsenal are that great. They are just better organised and very very committed which is more than half the battle. You see teams like Brentford rocking up and resting their SPINE FFS with decent teams like Brentford doing that they can coast 3/4 of the home games - as we used to in our pomp. Makes a huge difference re injury management, rest, reduced level of suspensions etc.

Plus Arteta has realised that they dropped points in previous seasons when out of form and has introduced the corner and throw in tactics to overcome this, that is, you don't have to be at the top of your game to score from a corner to get you over the line.
Having said that, I don't think the Arse will have it all their own way all season, I think we're the only realistic challengers though and that's only if we go on a long winning/unbeaten run.
