Fulham (A) Post Match Thread

we all moan about this player or that player and why is he playing ? but the level of this manchester city squad needs a lot of praising. we have gone 3 games a week for most of the season and from December to march none stop football
its still 3 games a week from now to the end of the season so a big shout out to everybody

we all forget the commitment we are asking of this bunch of players and manager coaches in keeping the level so high. we want/love success and trophies ? but the truth is we are still not there yet and games like tonight will make it easy for the best 11 getting the rewards in finals or on winning the title but its a squad game

thank you to everybody at Manchester City from the tea lady to pep we love you

thanks everyone for the thumbs up and likes

Very true. They play some good stuff out from the back, They have nothing creative in midfield a lot of players that are tidy on the ball but none of which capable of trying something to open teams up it's basically just try and keep the ball but not hurting the opposition on top of that they have nothing in the final third other than hoping Lookman creates something out of nothing.
Really don't know why he doesn't start Mitrovic, Maybe if "Scotty" stopped pretending he's something that he's not and actually played Mitovic they wouldn't be in the bottom three.
I was delighted they didn't play mitrovic. A proper handful him. Ruben loftus cheek wasnt going to hurt us.

Also, there was zero press. Ruben Dias could have played with a mug of tea in his hand

Mitrovic on his day can give any centre half in the league a tough time the centre back knows he's in a game if he sees Mitrovic starting. You would think he has to start him, Every time Fulham are under pressure they have no out ball to take the pressure off for a few minutes throughout games, Mitrovic would do that job with his eyes closed.

Loftus Cheek is absolutely shit.

To be honest they has nothing really, Anguissa was ok. Big and athletic. Didn't really do any damage despite having a numerical advantage in midfield. Bernardo bossed midfield against 3 of them. Their left wing back was handy until the final third but then had nothing.

Pretty with no substance. Just like Parker.

I hope you are wrong about that, I have supported city for over 40 years and I have to say he is my favourite player (just above David Silva for me although I know many who disagree with that), so it is very important to have a living legend still doing the business.
I suppose once the league is won, which will hopefully be in 3 or 4 games time, then of course he will be able to play more Prem games, which in turn will help us if we are still in the Champs.

Hated it first half , second half was a blur post jab , did he change it a bit ?
Don’t think he changed the formation but it did take a while to take off . First few minutes some players were bit confused about their positioning but got worked out eventually.

Loftus-Cheat was doing exactly the same as Salah, Kane and Vardy, backing into defenders then throwing himself to the ground.

Great 2nd half. Iffy 1st half, we were far from being "in control" in that 1st 15 minutes. For the 3rd match in a row, we took 15 minutes to get into our stride.
Credit to the home side for putting us under pressure in terms of their pressing in midfield.
Very comfortable in the end and the guys at the back were excellent.

Before the game I fully expected a routine win, but in the first half I thought Fulham were excellent. If Lookman had a left foot, I do think they might have sneaked a goal. As others have said, it's refreshing to watch a team try to play football. I thought to myself, if I was a Fulham player I'd want to be showing Pep that I can play football instead of busparking and hacking our players down. They do seem to be finding maybe just enough form to pull out of the bottom 3 as well and it could be at the expense of the worst busparkers - except united - Newcastle.

Second half, we just clicked and after a great finish from Stones it was just a matter of how many really. It was good to see Aguero score. I was shocked to find out that he didn't score any goals whilst he was injured and unable to play. Even more incredibly, when the league was postponed because of corona, he didn't even score for us then either! It boils my piss listening to these clowns, I should watch the game on mute.

One thing I'm not a fan of is changing formations. We've been on a phenomenal run recently and I don't know why we needed/decided to play 3 at the back against Fulham. When players come into the team, like Mendy, they should be coming into a system that the other players know so that they can guide him through the game. Of course, I bow down to Pep's judgement, but I do feel uneasy when he does this and I'm hoping we're not saving 3 at the back against Real etc later in the season.

Overall, great job done and another step closer to the title!

Happy to get 3 points against a side who I think have shown some decent form of late. Another game ticked off, minutes into the legs of some rusty players, glad to see Aguero scoring in the league again and we had more or less complete control by the latter stages. But please...... don't use that formation again with those players. Onwards!
