No complaints with that from me. Get the job done, couple of early goals and both teams stroll the second half please.
Why has Pep dropped O’Rieley of late, who's been a bit of a revelation for us, to shoehorn a player that I like but who has been abysmal since MD1 in Akanji? Gvardiol is so much better at CB than LB on top of that.
Nothing to do with shoehorning akanji into the side. We've been wide open down his flank everytime he plays, it cost us in the final, opposition are fully aware of it and prepared to exploit it, they've got traore down the side. Gvardiol offers the best remedy to that. I suspect fitness depending, ake would be next one up ahead of O'Reilly for this.

meaning mistakes are more likely,
Yeah, because Akanji has been error-free all season.

My issue with Akanji this season isn't even making errors; it's just how little effort he's given. I can live with Dias' errors because I know he's always giving 100%, but Akanji has looked like he couldn't give two shits all year. His ‘closing down’ on Eze for Palace’s goal last week summed him up in one moment.

Young, inexperienced, and tires earlier each game he plays, meaning mistakes are more likely, and we simply cannot afford those in our current position. His time will come, but imagine the effect of him now making a mistake that leads to our missing out on Champions League football. Guardiola is being understandably protective.
You could tell he was fatigued in his last outing when he was pulled fairly early in the match after losing the ball several times over a ten minute period.

Pep knows he is an immense talent but is still young and needs to be managed well to avoid what continually happens to youth players being played in to the ground at the likes of his former Catalonian club, for example.

I think we are going to see a lot of O’Reilly next season and players like him we squarely in focus when Pep said he wanted a smaller squad.

Anyone know if Sky are doing multimatch (red button) or are we stuck with the Dips?

I mean they've been bigging up the "final day Dramah" yet aren't showing any of the relevant games?

Why so many people think that Rodri and Nico will start together next season? I personally don´t think that will be the case.
I think we may see it against the best teams, but neither is a pure defensive midfielder and could therefore be more attacking. All depends how Pep decides to set up next season, but they could definitely play together although suspect it may swap and change to give both a break, especially with a CWC leading into a World Cup

I think Pep is looking for a new system after this season and a more fluid 3-2-2-3 in possession (more organised 5-2-2-1 out of possession) would make a lot of sense based on our projected squad.

He has been error free for a lot of this season.

All the games he was injured he didn't make ONE error! :D
