how come some teams improve energy with 5 subs fulham away example we go slower2nd half irrelevant when youre 3-0 up so not reading too much into that as 5 subs were made so felt like a cup tie
1st half was excellent some really good football
Yup. Said the same thingIt's down to Pep instructing the players to conserve energy and slow the tempo.
He's always playing the long game and it's served us quite well over the years. We'll be full pelt from April.
It’s almost as if the game was done half timeHas anyone mentioned that weren’t as effective in the second half as the first half yet?
But the drop is immediate, team-wide. They can't possibly all feel exactly the same amount of fatigue at exactly the same time, surely?Second half might just be down to fitness. The amount of work the team does out of possession in the first half I can kinda see why we drop in the second half.
You're the first!Has anyone mentioned that we weren’t as effective in the second half as the first half yet?
You conserve energy by "putting the ball in the freezer" - that's not what was going on this evening.Or, it might be that Pep wanted them to conserve energy for what is to come.
Keane of Everton was sent off for that same offense against Wolves a couple weeks agoSo, when is pulling an opponent’s hair not a red card?
When the opponent is Manchester City, apparently.
Posters have been moaning about Pep not ‘going for the throat’ since he came here. It’s almost as if the game was done half time
That makes me think of Paula Abdul ;-)We're getting there - three steps forward and one step back.
5 subs is changing the entire outfield lineup so there's likely going to be a period of the subs getting settled and figuring out the patterns with whoever's on the pitch and who comes on later. Taking off Nunes pretty much killed our threat down the right for stability and we subbed out the whole midfield.how come some teams improve energy with 5 subs fulham away example we go slower
we took a free kick on halfway line waited till 6 fulham players started press passed it 2 yards to end up back at keeper
Yep, baffling and a bit fed up of it as it’s all the time Doesn’t help when I had £5 on 5-0Second half drop off is baffling. I saw someone saying that it is because Donna cannot play out but that does not explain why players lose the ability to control balls and make simple passes. I think having Doku on the bench ready to come on will change things when he comes back.
