I had really mixed feelings about the crowd yesterday, i mean, its great that we sold out (even though there was plenty of empty seats) but so many ‘day trippers/first timers’ that it felt a bit weird.
guy next to me never flinched when we scored but he ate 4 pies (honest!!) and numerous bags of crisps and he had a city store bag so great he was spending money.
Even saw a lad of about 7 in a united tracksuit!!
so , hopefully a few of the first timer will come again, but it created a weird, day out sort of ambience
not a moan, just an observation
well to be fair I’d say a lot of the crowd wasn’t day trippers or first timers. There was just lots of families, people who have been priced out and Locals. Also lots of young adults - you never see them at league games. The crowd was much more reflective of our local support in my opinion. (Barely any tourists)
how do you know they were day trippers? six of us went yesterday who all used to go regularly.
I wouldn’t say the regular crowd is any better. Early leavers and no noise at all, pretty regular for a league game
