Full Backs?

It wouldn't be a bad move. 23years old, 6ft, can actually defend plus I understand we could be getting him for free. Would be nice to have some bosnian fans here again, haven't heard from them since the "bosnian diamond" left.

I don't know if you watch him very often but he's worse defensively than Kolarov from admittedly the very little I've seen of him. He looks slow as fuck, has the turning circle of a double decker bus and looks like once he's been beaten he just lets them go like Kolarov. We need quick, agile, tenacious and technically gifted fullbacks not a big meathead lump.

If we sign him I fully back Pep and will admit my judgement is shit.

I'd agree, if it wasn't that Pep will want at least 2 of our new 4 fullbacks to be able to play Centre half as well as fullback to allow an instant switch between 4 and 3 at the back.
or from fb to cm. one reason i think we've already got Fabinho in the bag

Strange how individual memories work becuse I don't have any fond reminisces of our Bosnian friends. I was a bit sad to see Dzeko go but I don't miss his followers.
I don't know, it would be nice in a way to have a few years of sticking up for Gabriel Jesus when he taps it into an open net instead of passing it back 70 yards to Kolasinic do he can have a go.

We may, but my sense is we'll be just as good if we adapt the qualities of players already on our squad. Denayer at RB and Delph at leftback.

But if push came to push Fabihno, the Italian at Roma and and the ex Bayern product Mitchell Weiser at Herta are all good shouts at RB. Left back I think is a little trickier. Gaya and Bernat have the ball skills, Wendell has energy. But I don't trust any
We all talk about these foreign player but why not offer spurs £80 mil for rose and walker problem solved?

Was looking forward to getting my first look at Kolasinac in the Ruhr derby, but not even in the squad.

Danny Rose seems to be on the radar in a big way which would be a great signing for us , as he's quality . Fabinho on the right side for me he looks the business and can play DM equally as good as a bonus

I would buy Adama Traore and coverts him to fullback.

He's a fucking awful player. Hands down the worst brain I've ever seen in football. Naturally a physical beast. But if he's gone through barcelonas youth system and through 2 sets of premier league coaches and still not learned how to make a well timed run or to pass or to cross or to do anything other than run in straight lines then there is absolutely no chance he could learn to play as a fullback.

There is no such position as "full back" in the modern game.

Wide defenders have to be able to play in midfield and get down the line to be technically proficient enough for BOTH playing the wide position with world class midfielders AND putting in undefendable crosses. Ideally, he is also 5'10" or taller, to be able to defend at the near and far post when needed.

Oh, and he needs to be able to defend!

Is there any wonder it is becoming such a key, and difficult to fill, position in the top teams?

Two new full backs will make a huuuuge difference.

Being able to defend, overlap without fear and deliver quality (crossing and shooting) is a must.

Basically the Zaba of 2012 reborn and x 2.

And regarding fullbacks, If Valencia and Moses turned out as a good fullbacks, why can't we try Navas and Delph there ?

We will save millions and keep it to buy exceptional talents only.

Thanks to Pep for listening to me and trying Navas as fullback today. :)

Hopefully he will try Delph as LB later and see his performance there.

Agree. I think the full backs are almost the most important players in a team playing Pep football. Our current fullbacks are too old and too unable to provide the attacking force Pep required. I am looking forward to seeing some young and fresh energy on those positions next season - basically the fullback equivalents of Sane and Sterling :-)

Unlike Maureen to develop a young player when he can buy ready made.
To be fair, he does buy young talent for backup positions. Case in point, Zouma?

That said, I like Tierney, and I doubt he'll end up there. He Looks more like the type top teams underate until it is too late and they have to pay out of the nose.
