I'm planning a piece about the 1986 Full Members Cup final, when City played a derby at Old Trafford on the Saturday and the final at Wembley the next day.
I'll be speaking to a couple of players who were involved but would love to hear experiences of fans who went to both games.
Please shout up!

I went to both. I believe the trains to Euston after the Derby were rather 'interesting' as a lot of City fans decided to spend Saturday night in London

I got the special down from Piccadilly to Wembley Central on the Sunday. I remember at 5-1 thinking it was getting embarrassing

A mate of mine left at 5-1 and had no idea at all that we had pulled it back to 5-4 until he got home back in Failsworth

I was 14 at the time and went to both. At 5-1 my brother said come on let’s go I’ve seen enough. As we were walking back to the coach we could hear 3 more loud cheers and thought it was 8-1! Got to the coach and the driver looked at us and said why are you here it’s 5-4. We legged it back and got in as the full time whistle went! Crazy day that topped off a crazy weekend

remember a breezy drive back from wembley with a load of windows missing from the coach

I went to both. I was living in Manchester then & 4 of us drove down there & back on the Sunday, parking at Harrow on the Hill. I remember the atmosphere in the stadium being more like a pre-season friendly than a Cup Final. We left at 5-1 to get a flyer & found out it ended up 5-4 when we arrived back at the car. Not one our better trips to Wembley. Think I've still got the match ticket somewhere in my collection.

We left at 5-1 and got the train back to Mcr. When we got back a random bloke commiserated with us and told us we were unlucky. We thought he was taking the piss. Then we found out it was 5-4! Needless to say we haven’t left a game early ever since and so glad as the Dickov and Aguerooooo goals are two of the highlights of being a fan of this wonderful club which any early leavers would have missed.

I went to both games. Drove down to Wembley and back on the day and I too left at 5-1 to miss the inevitable traffic jam - probably just as well hearing later what happened to a lot of the City cars and coaches. I didn't find out the final score until I got home either.

Went to both mate, me and my mate both aged 17... had a ball on the Saturday at Old Trafford, knew we couldn’t really go to the pub after the game as knew we’d need the money for the wembley trip do hit the off licence instead and sat drinking white lightning or something similar until the early hours. Got a lift to town on the Sunday and walked into the train station and bumped into my dads 2 mates Kev Cochoran and Tony Deguise. They had bags full of ale so we decided to stay with them for the day!! Drank all their ale, found another off licence near Wembley as the pubs were shut if I remember correctly and we both bought a crate each which we then sold some of to lads at the back of the queue who didn’t want to wait.
Got in the ground and just after kick off it literally did as hundreds of chelsea fans were in our end!! Got a bit tasty to say the least.
As for the match, don’t recall too much, left at 4-1, heard them score another on our way round the ground.. only when we all got in a taxi in Manchester to head to our local (thanks Alf for keeping it open) did we find out the score!! Gutted and didn’t even finish my pint as i shot home to check if that was the real score or if I was being wound up.
Never ever left a game early since.

Same here - that was the last time I left before FT. Never again. It stuck in my mind towards the end of the Gillingham game, fortunately.

went to both with 2 mates - one a blue and one a red (both the derby and the final). We got a coach to the final. There were 2 pick up points for Wembley- I was the second - my 2 mates (red and blue) were the first. Just before the coach was about to leave the first pick up point my red mate realised my blue mate still wasn't there. The coach driver agreed to wait a few mins whilst my red mate ran back to my blue mates house (pre mobile phones) to wake him (assuming he had overslept)
However... as my red mate ran to his house my blue mate meandered onto the coach from a different direction unaware of the commotion. On seeing his red mate not on the coach, and unaware it was because he was kindly running back to try and wake him - he just assumed he wasn't coming and told the coach driver to leave. It was Watford Gap when we both rang our red mate to find out why he was missing, and he told us the story. Our red mate thought it was a conspiracy so he would miss the game

Link it to the way we're treated now with always getting the short straw on TV/turn around times.

The 24 hour thing for this game if I remember correctly didn't effect Chelsea, add in the Peli FA Cup match and obviously as a journalist you can dig many more out...

2 coaches went from Hat & Feather's Mason Street Ancoats, Tate,Muir brothers top lads fun and games that day.

Remember us getting a coach from Gorton. Paddy Crerand had a pub in Altrincham at the time. We stopped off there for 'breakfast' early doors. Four pints and a full english. Paddy gets a lot of stick but he was great with us. All I remember after the game was being on the floor of the coach in the Wembley car park as bricks rained in through the windows.

Travelled to Wembley from RAF Biggin Hill where I was stationed... The tube was full of Chelsea and it was a hot day so I had to wear my coat fastened up to cover my City shirt... Crap result but enjoyed the game and the day out ;-)

I went to both
on the sat 6 of us to ot
4 blues and 2 rag mates,we drank in a pub close to picc, cant remember which 50-50
I'm sure i didnt have a ticket and paid to get in our end ? we went mental when good old arther albiston scored our equaliser
5 of us drove down to wembley next day
i will never forget my mate ,the driver going balistic with me somewhere near watford
we'd just come bck from a pub and he had gone first,i opened the door and he was snorting a line
went mad with me as it nearly blew everywhere !
when we were walking to our gate to get in,i remember a massive mob, don't know if they were us or chelsea
,i remember city fans rushed to attack/meet chelsea fans near the half way line during the second half and it kicking off
quite tasty outside too on the car park, running battles.
a great weekend .
