Funniest film visual gags

Thanks mate.Still laugh at that even from 20+ years ago.

This is the one I though of too.

Check out Kentucky Fried Movie - it was written by the Zucker Brothers and directed by John Landis. I believe they made it whilst at college.
It is a collection of sketches and has lots of visual gags. Highlights are Catholic High School Girls in Trouble, Modern Uses for Zinc and a great Bruce Lee satire.

Has to be those two. So many visual puns , you nearly see a new one every time you watch it. A couple of my faves;
Robert Stack (Captain Kramer) whipping off his sunglasses, only to reveal another pair underneath.
The black guy trying to close "the bonnet" on the plane and being catapulted into mid air.
The kid in the control tower crashing the plane by using the instruments as some sort of arcade game.
As the pilots on here will probably know, planes like the Cessna 172 do have a dipstick in the engine!
A friend of mine owned one (before the Revenue made him sell it!) at Barton International and asked me to check the oil before a flight. I immediately thought of Airplane!, and thought he was taking the piss. Not so. He lifted the engine cowling, and there it was! Oil checked, topped up, and away we went.
Something to do with the way they are built and cannot fly inverted, so a "normal" engine is used - I'm sure my more learned colleagues will enlighten me.

In the Peter Sellers film the Party there is a brilliant visual gag with caviar which is just bit long for a youtube clip
