Future Strikers

Is Timo Werner Liverpool bound? he is my choice
I mean he has said that he don't want to join Bayern so maybe. It would work if Liverpool change system to a 4231 but that'd mean their wingbacks can't push up that high anymore so it's debatable if it makes sense to buy Werner then

It would be a gamble for a side like us or Liverpool to buy him because he has not shown to be as prolific in a side that doesn't focus on quick turnarounds and counters. This is showcased with his struggle to score for the national team. I think he's more suited to sides like United, Leicester or Atletico

No point even thinking about Martinez as he has basically said he wants the Barca move . Shame aswell because he is quality and would be great .

He's not good enough for us or Barca. Don't get the hype. Lukaku has been better for Inter this season

Martinez is a 1 in 2 striker combined with 1 assist boasting a 59% pass completion rate. He has one more goal than Gabby(apparently a bad finisher) despite playing over 400mins more and averaging nearly 2 more shots per game. He dribbles less and isnt as good at pressing either.

My shout post Aguero would be promote Jesus and buy a goalscoring winger who can also play up top like a Gnabry

Assuming Lautaro is indeed heading to Barca, Pep should ensure, if nothing else, that Liverpool do not land Werner

Timo would be a perfect fit for many teams and indeed make Liverpool even more dangerous in attack, as hard as that is to imagine. Especially if Sane is indeed off to Bayern, for example. Werner is an outstanding wide attacking player who really is an inside forward ala David Villa

werner would be a top signing for us if leroy leaves. maybe use angelino in the deal?
Rather use Angelino to land one of the three french Leipzig CB's (Konate,Upamecano and Mukiele). All three are very complete and physical CB's and definitely got the speed we need at the back support a slower CDM like Rodri or Gundogan. Speed should definitely be one of the most important criterias when we look for Laporte's partner given that we concede most our goals from counters

I don’t think Jesus is good enough to be our main striker tbh . Misses fr too many and is always offside. Good supporting striker but not good enough to be the main one . Haaland on the other hand would be ideal.

Don't say that fella, you'll get a hammering on here. Apparently we needed an 6'3ft tall, 6'3ft wide fat **** with a slabhead according to some people in the summer because we conceded two headed goals the year before.

Haaland's technique and passing would need some heavy work before Pep would even consider starting him. Way too raw for us at the moment, he's a brilliant poacher but we need strikers who got some allround play to them too given how much possession we have. Alexander Isak at Real Sociedad would suit us a lot better and got the same world class potential as Haaland with a lot less hype

True, true. He must be British as well. Why spend 60m quid on some exotic looking fella when we can just look for bargains in the Championship.

On a serious note though, we need someone with recovery pace I don't care if he's around 180cm like Boubacar Kamara. As long as you have the timing and work on the leap the height doesn't really matter. Look at Marquinhos and Thiago Silva for example, both midgets (for a CB) and both are world class

Fernandinho hasn't been caught out in the air too many times either and he's not huge. That said I don't think we'll be spending anywhere close to £60m on a CB, on anyone for that matter, unless we recover it in sales.

Hopefully we buy a CB for the Sané money. Should be at least 60m for Sané

I doubt we'll get £60m for Sane in the current market, as I think it's Bayern or no one for him (my opinion), so there's no competition to drive the price up.

A left winger is a bigger priority than a CB for me too, in attack and defence. The combination of pace and width scare the opposition, so much so it stops them pushing as many players forward when they do counter attack.

As the saying goes "attack is the best form of defence".

We have to spend big otherwise we will fall behind. Key players aging, shit defence. Sell to buy will not work here.

Money doesn't grow on trees, where is this money coming from exactly?

If you haven't noticed the TV money is at risk, there's potentially no fans allowed at games for the foreseeable future, there's a significant drop in advertising revenue, there's no opportunity to host business/corporate events at the stadium. And we still have wages to pay, there's still facilities to maintain and there's still business costs (insurance, liabilities etc) to pay. And we're not allowed to use our owners money because of FFP.

We need a CB who has pace and is also good in the air. It's the thing we lack the most of all our CB's. We need to deal with the likes of Vardy, Rashford, Son who get behind our high line. They have to be physical and good in the air. Not only because of set pieces, but when we press high most teams will try to look to their #9. Our CB needs to press up on them and win the arial duel or intercept the ball so we can retain possession. This is why Ota plays a lot, but we need someone better. Fernandiho and Garcia against Chris Wood or Troy Deeney won't cut it. But this is the striker thread.

FFP will be relaxed otherwise according to you no one would be spending, which we all know is BS.

City are already lining up Aouar for at least €50m according to RMC. Its pretty reliable source. Big clubs will still spend big.

Its the smaller clubs that are taking the hit really.

Think Aouar will just be the Sane money, we’ll buy a centre back but sell Otamendi and maybe Zinchenko or Angelino. Doubt we’ll see a net spend more than £30/ 40 mill if that, if we do we’ll be one of the highest spenders this summer.
Just the loss of matchday income and s/ c sales for next season will reduce our turnover enough to go from a small profit last year to a loss this year.

You're living in cloud cuckoo land if you think it won't affect all clubs. Coming out with "FFP will be relaxed so everyone can spend", is just plain ignorance. Even if FFP is relaxed, sensible owners won't just pump money into a business that's no longer sustainable due to a huge downturn in revenue streams which could last way beyond the current circumstances.
