So - as the value of the pound plummets, the cost of our transfers with clubs in the euro zone go up by 10%, no?

(Not trying to start a political discussion here)

I suspect that most sensible PL clubs keep cash reserves in Euros so that fluctuations in the currency markets don't hugely effect transfers.

The figure will recover fast, not least because we are actually still in európe for another 2-3 years yet. On top of which the panic is nothing more than fear of the unknown at present. I suspect within a fortnight the pound will be trading no more than 2%less than yesterday...perhaps even sooner, and better.

Plus stocks of euro's as the poster above mentioned...hell, the owners may even buy into the pound while its rock bottom and actually end up profiteering.

Well apart from the pound... The sheikh should push world domination plans to a later date .. In seriousness pretty sure the academy will hopefully bear fruit with pep there too

This is going to be a bit of a shit show. Not being able to sign u18 players from other countries will be a bummer.

How can they possibly know that? They don't know what the new rules will be after we leave.

Price of English players will probably start to rise? Some less talented players from Europe may feel less secure about transferring to PL?

In the short term bringing in players from abroad will be more expensive, in the long term it's anybody's guess.

I agree, nobody really knows how the world will look like after the Brexit is implemented. Much too early to panic. Whatever happens the CFG will be a good thing for City to have put in place.

Ignoring the fact that we become members of EFTA which gives citizens rights to ply their trade in other member states, the difference being is that we have elements of control

There's a lot of BS flying around. Most of it is based on the current rules for non-eu players and assuming the rules will be exactly the same, then retroactively applying them to EU players.

Which is completely ludicrous because loads of players in the league failed the work permit test for non-eu players, and got through via the appeals process which had an 80% success rate.

Not to mention it's pretty ridiculous to suggest the exact same rules will be applied like a blanket - one of the reasons the non-eu work permits were so hard to get was because the EU players couldn't be regulated at all.

As for the academy and signing players u18.

That probably will happen - Greg Dyke has wanted it to for ages, but I think it's the direction that our academy and Chelsea's is moving in anyway. As more of our players come up through the club's youngest ranks, we'll see fewer foreign players anyway.

Don't worry, we can't do any worse than our dealings over the past few years, even with the pound crashing. I trust Pep to deal well and when his reign finishes in 3 years the pound will be strong anyway.
