Gabriel Jesus - 2017 performances

He was amazing last night but over time he will have some bad games where his lack of experience and youth will show. And I hope when that time comes, we won't come down on him and write him off like we did with Sane, Sterling, and Stones.

Needs to start next game over Aguero. G. Jesus outperformed him in his short cameo. Kun hasn't exactly been himself this season, the bench will do him good.
Jesus Christ! Relax guys :(

Superb player but I found it quite noticeable how Kolarov wouldn't pass to him. He had several opportunities to do so but went back or inside to halt an attack.

Probably over analysing but I'd say kolarov and GJ have conflicting personalities which was evident, imo, in those last ten minutes.
Check my comment in the Korlaov thread. I sed the same thing. Their was times when he could of gave Jesus the ball quickly and Jesus would of been able to run at his man. But Koralov ignored it everytime. But I don't think it's anything personal. He used to do the same to Sterling. He loves to ignore the winger playing on his side. I put it down to him being a poor football player.

We only write off guys who's name Start with an "S", so no worries there :)

Poor footballing brain. Seen it for years. Sadly, Clichy has a better football brain but weak technique.

Leftback is a major problem when we have the ball :(

Was hoping Jesus would come in for Clichy and Sane moved back into the leftback position.

Coz we were that bad at leftback when we had the ball. Sane would probably do better than either KB in the position.

GJ playing anywhere along the line is meaningless if Aguero's playing because he can't. You can't have a fluid front 3 making use of Gabriel's positional flexibility if one of the 3 is fixed in the middle.

Aguero has shown his willingness over the season to adapt to what pep wants....so he can be as flexible as the others....and is a vastly superior goal threat to sterling who is extremely wasteful.......Agueros movement yesterday was what helped create chances which sterling, KDB all missed...he tackled defenders to create, gave one twos..he was invovled in our best two chances int he first half which he helped create.....

No, he quite simply cannot be as flexible as the others because he can't play on the wing. That's not a matter of opinion. He can't play across the front 3, and the others all can, and could end up like Sturridge at Liverpool. Sturridge is the best forward Liverpool have, and he's by far the best finisher, but he was dropped because he can't play fluidly like Mané, Firmino and Lallana can.

Aguero also hesitated in front of goal a few times, let hismself get forced out wide because he didn't want to shoot and butchered two separate 3v2 breaks where he could have Sané through against the keeper but inexplicably did not.

He worked hard but he's also not scored against any league opposition in the top 10 all season. He's got one in his last 5, and for every game where he's working hard and positive, there's one where he's sulking and looks like he'll get himself sent off again.

It would be stupid to think Aguero is not just as much on the chopping block as anyone else in the team.

the chance you are talking about was simply great defending.......

the other forward also messed up break aways as well......

He has still scored far more than anyone else.....If KDB, sterling or Sane ever get close to 25 goals a season in the next couple then we can think about letting Kun go (as this is clearly the aim of your narrative) btu at present he (and probably Jesus) are our only two natural finishers.

Sane missed a much easier chance yesterday (the header) but you havent mentioned that either...or the time that sterling missed numerous chances.

GJ could be the best thing that ever happened to Kun...he will take some much needed pressure off him and they could potentially link very well.... Kun is doing the work that Pep wants him to..I agree its taking something away from his personal game (he is best on the shoulder of the last defender) but that aint kuns fault. It was him that played GJ through for the first cross on goal if you also noticed.
