PEP: Gabriel is 19 years old, but has settled quickly. He takes English lessons every single day and that means a lot to me.

PEP: The three games he played he showed a lot of things. Desire, helping us in our high pressing, his intensity, his movement.

He plays with the same intensity that Tevez used to show, well most of the time.

It was interesting comparing Carroll and Jesus work off the ball the other night. Carroll ran at full pace to the first man to close him down, dropped his pace to the second man, and then gave up entirely when the ball went to the third. Jesus ran flat out from the first man to the second man and then to the third; he runs with the desire to win the ball back and the expectation that he'll succeed. Carroll ran with the knowledge that the cameras would be on him for the first run but thereafter 'so what!'

All we need now are two central midfielders with that energy and there'll be a few more Andy Carrolls on show.

Is it me or does he always look like he's frowning or desperately holding a fart in?

"According to sources close to the player, Fabian Delph has requested that the club dietitian remove all sources of lactose from teammate Gabriel Jesus' nutritional plan." - The Gourdian
