£45m is a good deal for us. He has 1 year left and he wanted to leave. Our negotiating position is not great. I think we originally wanted £50-£55m so we're not a million miles off.

We are well stacked in the positions he plays and him leaving effectively pays for Kalvin Phillips.
Exactly and the squad is now more complete and stronger for it.

City played for 2 seasons with a false 9. Jesus had more than enough time to claim the no 9 position as his own.

That's complete speculation right now.

Putting our faith in Cole Palmer and a 22 year old from the Argentinian league to do what Jesus did week in-week out is a risk. Obviously a calculated risk but still remains to be seen how it plays out.

I dont think city fans get enough credit for how they treat outgoing players or ex players. Look at villa and pool every time it happens.
Most people on here know my feelings towards L***s, in particular their lovely fans. But credit where it's due, most of them seem to harbour no ill will towards Phillips over his imminent move to us.

Jesus is a winger not a striker :-)

£45m with 1 year left is not bad. City treat departing players with respect. Sometimes at our own financial expense. The flip side is that players talk and the next star will not think twice upon joining us.

The clubs reputation is worth more than a couple million.
That's exactly how City work. Probably uniquely in top level football. One of the best things about the club.
