I think the board are right to stick by him, but there's no escaping the fact he and his team absolutely bottled the end of last season. All well and good talking about how happy the players are and how good he makes them in August when the sun is still out and you've won your first two games, need to see what happens in the big games later in the year.I like Arteta and hope Arsenal stick with him. He's pretty early in his managerial career and he needs the time and freedom to develop his own style, try stuff out and make mistakes.
I think that with that talented young Arsenal squad and a supportive board whose expectations are steady improvement, he's in the place he needs to be right now.
If Pep were to leave next summer, I don't think Arteta is ready. But if Pep gives us a few more years then Arteta may well be in the running. It's worth monitoring how he does, anyway.

Absolutely spot on, using Arsenal as a stepping stone.He wouldn't be there for more than 2 seasons, next stop is Madrid as Benzema's replacement. Arsenal got a very good deal here and they would make at least 75m when they sell him to Madrid.
