Gabriel Jesus - New Contract 2023

That's how I feel. So far he's been a good tap in merchant. We need to see what else he can do this season.

Tap in merchant my arse. Wonderful movement, strength, workrate, intelligence. Anyone who sees tis guy as a tap in merchant needs a new hobby.

I can only reason that they have very miserable lives and that transcends on to this board, because they certainly aren't watching the game i am.

Of course the kid can improve but what he has achieved so far,at just 21,is fantastic.
I have a fantastic life thanks.
Watched City for 40 years home and aways when I can.
Is it compulsory to think he's the future and is inevitably going to improve and propel us forward?
Ultimately and most importantly Pep thinks he is and I genuinely hope he proves me wrong. Just not seeing it - and I am looking for it.

I can't recall him scoring a scorcher from outside the box. Scores plenty of tap ins though. Flatters to deceive IMO, and needs to step up next season.
No offence but you need to look at his goals for Brazil and Palmeiras before coming on here as the expert on him and the type of goals he is capable of scoring.
He's perfectly on course to be an excellent player given his age.

Whatever he did or didn’t do for Palmeiras, I do think he’s still patchy in terms of his effectiveness. He perhaps gets judged unfairly because he’s in direct competition with the greatest striker the club has ever had, a player who can create goals for himself, surge past defenders and rifle, dink and place the ball beyond the opposition keeper from just about anywhere. Jesus has a very different skill set to that (great movement, creative, terrific work ethic, a nose for the unorthodox), but a little bit like Sterling, he often needs the help of others to shine. He does score a lot of goals from close range, but overall I think his finishing is hit and miss - sometimes excellent, but quite a few soft scuffs as well - and similarly his touch is either exquisite (he’s produced several lovely clips and flicks to tee up team mates), or of the couldn’t trap a bag of cement variety.
By way of direct comparison, when I watch Aguero I always feel he’s got a goal in him, but when I watch Jesus there are often games when I feel he is no threat whatsoever. Not intended as overt criticism, cos he’s a 21 year old who brings loads of great stuff to the table, but for me he’s a wide attacking forward or link man first and an out and out central striker second.

Great Jesus extended. Typical foreward that makes the players around him click and play better. Can’t comoare him to Aguero. Very different player.
Pretty sure the goals will keep coming and a lot of improve the to make him one of the very top players in the world. Yes that’s how positive I am about this player.
