Lets just assume Brazilian football fanatics who are raving about this kid being something special know more than us who only have a few youtube highlight clips to go off shall we? Comparing him to anyone at all in such a way is pointless. There's plenty of time for him to flesh out his youtube highlight portfolio, might as well be in HD and in a City shirt too right? :)

One of the most naturally gifted players, to ever play the game. Just because Jesus might not be as good, is no reason not to sign him...

Indeed. Ronaldinho at his peak was the most wonderful footballer I've ever seen.

Also one of the least professional and laziest which is why his peak only lasted about a year or two, and why Pep shipped him out ASAP before he lead Messi astray.

Gabriel is renowned for being incredibly hard working - unlike Ronaldinho or Robinho. I imagine that's one of the main reasons Pep wants him.

He's also apparently popular in Brazil because he has a street football background - he's a bit of a throwback to the old school Brazilians rather than the most recent lot who were all brought up paying futsal with referees and age groups.

I don't think any league is a walk in the park, but the Brazilian Leagues doesn't compare to any european league.

"Brazlian league has the flair, the samba touch and some very exciting games but the quality of football is way below the standard of European top leagues. 2015 league winners Corinthans had 81 points while the 20th place side Joinville had 31 and thats massive 50 points gap. But as far as Copa Libertadores is concerned Brazil had atleast 4 teams in each of the last 3 season knockout rounds"
They gave MLS the same number of points as the Brazilian Serie A? Pinch of salt required for that list?

Yes thats because the MLS is the same standard, its got young green footballers or old ready to retire footballers. Im sorry but your comment is nonsense.
How many emerging talents do we have coming from the MLS to go onto become star players in Europe? Secondly Brazilian football fanatics will have a better eye to spot which ones are likely to make it better than you or I watching a 2 min youtube vid. It may be less competitive but the quality of football statement is what is nonsense or they simply wouldn't be producing the players they do on a regular basis. Also have you seen the general state of the defending in the MLS? Sorry I don't see it at all.

We don't have any emerging talents coming through from America and yes SOUTH America have in the past had some cracking players come through. My point was, why we signing this guy when we have Nacho, he looks to have the talent and the ambition already. This guy does not show anything to be special at all, and for me I am out. But I am happy to let our fabulous owners have the faith in the recruitment team to do their job to their best :)
