If teams like Barca feel, he needs more experience in a bigger league before he's ready for a big team like Barca, us etc.....maybe a loan deal like with Moreno is likely?

Buy him now, loan out for a couple of seasons, earning his amortisation back, or close to it in loan fees. He either turns into the next Neymar and we're laughing, or the next Robinho and then we try and get £15m for him which shouldn't be hard. Same with Moreno and I can see it being standard practice for a lot of the South Americans. Better than having to spend £100m+ on the one who makes it.

Heard Tim Vickery on radio yesterday and he mentioned him and another Gabriel, who I think was also Brazilian. He said both need to do more to justify their reputations, which might explain the Barca view and why I expect we won't see him here for a while.

Didn't hear this but he may have been talking about Gabriel Barbosa, also a 19-year-old Brazilian attacker. Yeah, neither of them are quite ready for Premier League yet as far as I can tell. Not far off though, a season or two on loan should do it.

I would certainly think so mate. I think what is evident is that there MAY be some uncertainty surrounding sterling...perhaps. The sheer amount of players coming in who can do a job out wide says something.

Jesus can play every position up front, sane can too, not sure about moreno but i'd imagine its a similar story. I expect that navas will finish his last year, nasri given another year/or sold if there are takers, and next year moreno and jesus will come on board fully.

All just personal speculation mind.

Cheers mate!;)

I live in Brazil. Here are 6:41 am ... The media does not say anything about it ...

6.30 is early - maybe there will be some news when the Brazilian journalists wake up.

Barcelona's transfer strategy is not infallible - I trust pep to make the decision on readiness.

There's no doubt about Sterling. We already know pep has been on the phone to Raheem telling him that, we know Pep was instrumental in is buying sterling last summer and we've heard from Pep that he was shocked by the slating sterling got in the media because he could see it wasn't sterlings fault England were shit.

None of these signings mean anything for sterling except he'll be competing with players his own age.

I wouldn't loan him out. Watch the whole of this video. Its not one that can "make any player look good". It shows him delivering in spades.
And he is fucking rapid. I am most excited by this guy than any other signing we have/may have made.

Thanks mate....Love the signing, I'm just hoping he's not the plan B for Sane....Sane is the player that can help us this year and is more proven, after playing in a stronger league. Love the long term thinking tho....cheers

Based on the reactions since the news just now, it's important to know these things. YouTube is a little bit dated now if you're thinking he's just a wide player and trying to figure out how he fits into the side with Sterling/Nolito/Sané etc. this could very well be our ST signing.

Full backs ? Did you watch last nights game !

I seriously hope they continue to impress during pre season. If they play well against the rags dortmund etc then they have a good chance of making it next season

As for gabriel, I hope this is true!

Fair comment...

However, personally , i think there might sometimes be a difference between saying something to the press with good intentions, and actually meaning it when it comes down to it...

A lot of wingers close to joining.

Unless Pep/Txiki absolutely convinced him something strong to give up his persuit of winning the league for his hometown club then we are going to have to wait till his season is finished in December. This was important to him above all,win gold for Brazil and win the league for Palmeiras before moving anywhere.

The report said he was being loaned back to Palmeiras until Dec when their season ends. So, all gravy. Just will have to wait until Jan to see him in blue.

Looks a top player in the making and best of all seems to be hardworking which can often be a flaw with flair players. Any idea on the fee? Was reading around £27m before.

I know I just want others to understand versus questioning why he's being loaned back as well.

Looks like we're paying the non discounted release up to €40M bonuses included. I hope South American clubs from all over want to do more business with us since our money and terms aren't funny like Barca's lol

Talk with City advances and Palmeiras sights R $ 68.6 mi a 'slice' of Jesus

Verbally, Manchester City told the Palmeiras agrees to pay 32 million (R $ 114,464,000.00) by Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian club liked what he heard and the conversations follow, but there is still nothing official.

There is also already negotiating with businessmen and with the striker who own most of the economic rights of the athlete.

Palmeiras is only 30%, but is optimistic rem regarding an agreement to stay with 60% of 32 million, if the sale is made for this amount. Thus, their share would increase from EUR 9.6 million (R $ 34,339,200) to EUR 19.2 million (R $ 68,678,400). If their conditions are not accepted, the club may refuse to accept less than the fine of 40 million euros.

There is still optimism in Palm City on the bump receive Jesus if negotiations take place, only after the end of the Brasileirão, which ends in December.

Searched through his press office, Palmeiras said it would not comment on the status of Jesus. Already Cristiano Simões, athlete entrepreneur and has participation in the economic rights he did not meet the blog, as well as his staff.

Remember that there are other clubs like Real Madrid and Bayern interested in Gabriel Jesus. But the interest of Barcelona has cooled. These three clubs, along with Manchester United and PSG have the privilege of being able to pay a lower termination fine of 20 million euros if they want to count on the palmeirense promising.

Some very snidy remarks in Sport. Maybe that has to do with the fact that it's the Barca-part of Sport? They even know every little detail of the transfer that both Palmeiras and City were keen to throw out to Sport and told them to please go and publish it.

Btw, no deal is secured until I see the lad at the Etihad with a blue top in his hands. As for the player, never saw him play and only know his name by rumor. But I sometimes do enjoy these kind of articles that only acknowlede the fact we are indeed an intruder to the top of football.
