Signing a rising star from Brazil is a huge coup. We're becoming an elite club with these signings.

I think that aspect is going under the radar a bit whilst all the media are talking about Pogbas & various other 'big' names.

We are persuading major talent, the kind of talent literally everybody is after, to come to City instead of the once so called 'elite' clubs.

Express reporting that United didn't want him anyway.

Rag negotiator on his way trying to hijack the deal at the last minute......

The list of young players we are getting/have bought this summer is astounding. So much potential for the future, especially combined with our existing talent. All under Pep's stewardship. What a time to be a City fan

I'm an American but I thought I'd share this as I found it quite interesting. I'm a manager in a grocery store and I have a regular customer in his sixties from London. Yesterday we were talking and he said he thought that United's time was very much over and that within the next few years he could see them playing in the Championship. I disagreed but I've been thinking about it and based on how desperate they seem with everything they do now, it doesn't seem so far fetched.

without getting carried away i think united are using a scatter gun approach to buying players regardless of age and longevity and fitness and have been since Van Persie.

Really? I think it's quite a ridiculous idea.

That's more along the lines of what I was thinking but I definitely spent too much time thinking about it.

This would be a big change for City if we manage to sign one of South America's top young players. In the past they always went to the Southern Europe. Out of all the remaining deals on the table, its the Sane and Jesus deals that I am keenest on seeing go through.

So, from what I'm hearing, Gabriel Jesus is on a level to Neymar's talent at that age. That will be some signing for us if he can reach those kind of heights.

Imagine the number of pages this thread would've got back in 2009/10.

As much as we would all like to see them suffer like we had, I agree, I don't think relegation will occur in the near or distant future. The way they are approaching recruitment, which in my mind, doesn,t appeared structured, I can see them doing a Liverpool and struggling around mid table for quite a few years.

Yep. What makes this even better is we're signing him for a relatively small fee of £20m when in three or four years he could be worth similar to Pogba.

This is exactly my thinking.
