He had a fine game. Palace attacked very little and the vast majority was down the right hand side because of the gap naturally formed when Fernandinho tucked in. Clichy did reasonably well apart from when Palace had their best chance of the match, Benteke's header off a cross from our left.

To be fair they would have had an even better chance than that just earlier if Clichy hadn't put in a clearing header.

Clichy played very well. There are no 2 ways to put it. He was up there in competition for MOTM with Ota, Silva, Komps, and Kevin.

Clichy is a very good fullback, but not elite level, there are only 4 or 5 teams in the Prem that he isn't good enough to be a regular starter. the problem is, we are one of them

I agree and i certainly wouldnt have an issue with him being a back up to Sandro,or another world class alternative.What we have to remember is,not many better would be content sitting on the bench.

not good/consistence enough to be regular starter in top 4 team.
his prime time has past. please find another player.
if City really do care about homegrown status, there is other LB in top 15 clubs in the league are better than him.

He's been past his best for 2 years. The odd decent game doesn't change that.

He was a very very good player for us, at his best.

Nowardays, for the most part, the only reason he is in te team ever, is that the alternative is Kolarov. Occasionally he turns back the clock & reminds us of his good days, but sometimes he is letting the whole team down.

He needs to leave, with our thanks for everything he's done, & not become someone the fans get on at.
