Arsenal fans slag him for his inability to play the offside trap. We don't play offside trap, so that's a big problem that's already sorted for us.

This is one of those problems that is actually a systemic problem, but yet they'd rather blame a player for. I guess he is just not good for them. Baines will be a better fit for them. Hope they can afford him. :)

Honestly if he could play that offside trap, I'm confident none of them would call him wank.

because the whole back 4 needs to know exactly what it's doing at any given point and needs a leader that will talk to its teammates and make sure they're going through the correct phases.

Arsenal don't have that nor do they have any cohesion or team spirit so in a much more individualistic side they have to make more individual decisions which leads to "errors in judgement" or misunderstandings.

With a leader like Vinnie in there Clichy will know in no uncertain terms what he's meant to be doing at any given point, rather than at Arsenal where he can be playing at left back, centre back or left wing at any given moment depending on how all over the place the side is.

Anyone seen the article on BBC site with keown saying he's been crap for 2 seasons and won't be missed.

They are suggesting somehow baines is going to be a better bet and that all these players leaving will improve arsenal.

Arsenal won't sign Baines because Gollum wants 20m for him unless Arsenal give them cash + a player but I don't think Arsenal want to be losing players right now. Luis Enrique, an inferior defender (but possibly better attacker) to Clichy, is a more realistic replacement unless Whinger looks abroad.
