Question regarding the last episode:

What happened at Winterfell? Did everyone die? And what of the 500 at the gates? Or is this to be explained next season?

Actual spoiler alert.

I think Robb Stark was betrayed by the people who were supposed to free Winterfell. Probably a story line for next season.

I thought this too, but Rob did say that any soldier from the Iron Islands would be allowed to return home unharmed, but Theon was to come to him alive...so maybe they just handed Theon over to the 500 soldiers and went "home"...suppose that doesn't explain why it was all burnt down though, hmm.

Why? (in a non spoiler way)

Nobody is safe.

That's why.

I knew that at the end of season 1!

I think we should label the spoiler tabs so that ppl don't accidently read a spoiler from book 3 onwards.

eg.

Spoiler from Show
fgfdjgdijfg

Spoiler from Book 4
gjifjgfkdgjkfd

That or just don't post spoilers from the books (or make a new thread for them)

PS. the above aren't actual spoilers ;)

Anyways, here is a thing i did not quite understand from the last episode.
TV Show spoiler,
How did Stannis escape the battle? Was he not captured?

To paraphrase Bridget the wildling girl from north of the wall "You know nothing Elanjo".

I shit you not after reading book three my head was properly up my arse. I've never known anything like it in any story ever it's a proper oww fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fucking hell moment. I just hope the TV show portrays it the way it should be seen. I'm pretty sure they will though from what I've seen so far in the TV show as they're developing the right back story.

I've never come so close to putting down a book I've been enjoying so much after what happens in that book.

This is explained a bit more in the books, can't remember which book it is though. Not really a spoiler just a bit of extra explanation (this is why everyone should read the books they make it a lot clearer). But I imagine it will be explained more next season on TV as it has it's own story arc in the books.

It was Bolton's bastard son who burnt Winterfell. In the books IIRC it explains about how he resents being a bastard and not entitled to anything etc. So decides now would be a good time to take it for himself.

Puzzled!

What happened to the young kings bodyguard thought he got pissed of and was going to take the girl stark away and end of second to last episode.

Then in last episode he is no where to be seen and girl stark still in evil clutches of blonde king!

Soz re describe no good at remembering their peculiar names lol!
