Game of Thrones Season 3

That is the only downside. I thought it was already completed when I started reading them. I saw an interview with G.R.R. Martin and he didn't seem too sure when the next book would be finished!

At least two more The winds of winter followed by A dream of spring.

I've not read any, but I was going to start with 'Feast for Crows'. But if you read the reviews, it's the hardest to read out of the books as none of the main characters are in it.

That wouldn't bother me to be honest, but it seems to be a very common review by all types of readers of the books.

I enjoyed it. It wasn't as fast paced as the previous books but still a good read. Must admit I did miss Tyrion and Daenerys though.

Toughest book of the series, lots of new characters,new locations and a bit of a break from the usual pov characters,also he did milk it a bit, why start with book 4 though?

As I started with the TV show and didn't know it was based on the books (skipped the front credits). Rather start off from this point than cram three books in. I know the books will be much better, but I still have the element of surprise if I start from here.

Just my thoughts.

Tv show still on book 3 though pal, it was a big one so season 3 just covered 1st half, next year the 2nd half.

Ahh ok my bad, I thought the three series covered 3 books and not two.

S.1 = book 1
S.2 = book 2
S.3 = 1st half book 3
S.4 = 2nd half book 3
S.5 = book 4 + 1st half of book 5
S.6 = 2nd half of book 5

Then 2 more books to split into series.

As well as Series 3 only covering the first half of the 3rd book I think you should read the third book because it is the best of the whole series.

Even if you began with the first book you will enjoy them as there is a lot more in the books then the TV series. A lot needs to be trimmed/cut out to make the TV series.
