Game of Thrones (season 8)

Great ending to the series and for the characters in particular but it is such a disappointing end to the story which over the years has been the best part of GoT.

This was just an ending to S8, it wasn't an ending to everything that came before it.

Basically
the war of the 7 kingdoms kicked off in season one finally ended with Ned avenged and the starks winning , all the twats in the 8 seeasons died and the good folk or anti-heroes prevailed

Only thing was

After last few episodes would have been happy to see grey worm get his.

Hmmm. I guess maybe I just see things differently, because while I've been critical of this series, I thought that was beautifully, wonderfully done. I kind of had a feeling it would be as they knew where they were getting to, but I loved that. Loved that the characters had time to breathe, loved that they ended it with a satisfying resolution of the whole arc.

Maybe the lack of pitched battles has annoyed some, but GoT at its best was intrigue and politicking, not special effects.

The last 15 minutes of winding down might irritate some, but the conclusion of a series does have to take a little time to wave off the characters, and it did that.

For me at least, it was an ending fitting of all eight series, and vastly better than the last few weeks.

Pleased and satisfied.

Yep, you've literally written what I felt. The Tyrion/Jon scene was a hark back to the wordy, slow burn scenes of yester-season.

I think it tied everything up nicely, I'm happy. Won't be watching any spin offs, though.

My only gripe:
If Drogon knew Jon had killed Dany, why didn't he just roast him up?

Managed to tie up all the major characters in this episode - something which many said they couldn’t do.

A fitting ending to what has got to be one of the most entertaining TV shows in history.

Do people think it would have ended so lamely if GRRM had written the end? All very nice and predictable, but in all honesty it feels like a nothing ending.

As he is still a consultant and helped to shape the post books seasons and spoken about this

Yes

Not a bad ending. The writing though for this season was rather poor. If i can give 1 example where a simple change would help a lot... plot armour, they should have been stripped of it this season a lot more than they were. Ser Jorah should have come back with his horse limping and him about to die. It would have setup the battle well with the NK being given gravity to his threat. As it was his plot armour had him ride back untouched so he could die in a very tedious manor.

Basically reduce the plot armour across the board.

I will say one thing, if I had a fuck off massive dragon I would do to market st what danny did to kings landing, had to walk up the abomination towards deansgate just now.

Because he's a Targaryen and that makes them cousins ;)
