Game of Thrones

It's now starting to feel more like a well-produced fan fiction, rather than a TV show based on the writing of G.R.R. Martin. Whilst it's still the best thing on TV, it's definitely dipped in quality. For example:

- The way characters now seem to be able to teleport across Westeros (a symptom of the series being rushed, I guess)
- The scenes that seem to be purely about appeasing TV fans, such as the sparring between Brienne and Ayra, or Gendry's weird and unnecessary reappearance ("Yeah, sure, I'll come and fight these White Walkers at a drop of a hat, Davos"...)
- Tyrion's meeting with Jaimie was terribly written. He - the most wanted man in the city - turns up at King's Landing in broad daylight, somehow makes contact with Bronn to set up a meeting, and then manages to get into the keep. In past series we would've been shown how this was achieved, and it would have been smart and made sense.
- Jon discovering the Children of the Forest paintings was a little too convenient. As with the Tyrion/Jaimie meeting and much of this season, it was all a bit deus ex machina.
- Had that Episode 4 battle occurred in any other season, at least one of either Bronn or Jaimie would have died. The writers are now miraculously sparing too many major characters - again, I suspect, to appease TV fans.
- Jon and Davos know that fire kills wights. They discussed it in the first episode. So, why not ask Dany to send at least one of her Dragons to Eastwatch with them?!

As a fan I'm really enjoying the current series; I'll always enjoy GoT. But from an objective and critical perspective, I think it's been very weak so far. It plays more like a Marvel film or series, with big characters doing 'badass' things to excite fanboys.
And he should of banged her by now, gagging for it. Well I am haha, lucky girl. I'm enjoying the escapism of it on that size and scale, detail isn't everything. Epics like Ben Hur still had a mini cooper in one of the shots of the original, can't say I ever noticed.

But that's the thing - GoT was always about the detail. It was smart, with barely (if any) plot holes. Nothing fell through the gaps. It was a show about smart politics and power play in a fantasy setting; now, it's just a fantasy show about big set-pieces and with fan-favourites/pop star cameos nodding and winking at the camera. I am enjoying as escapism, too, but that was never what GoT was just about, for me.

It has one downside, ive found a Rilf, a ranga id like to feed.
There's some amazing red heads around these days.
