Wolves League Cup Final 1974.
Unbelievable Jeff !!

This!! Garry Pearce had a blinder for Wolves.

Yep and a Rodney Marsh backheel went straight to Kenny Hibbet/John Richards (actually Richards may have got their first) I think it was who scored the winner about 6 minutes from time.

It was Richards who scored the winner. Still don't know how we lost that game.
I was sat on the old wooden benches at wembley for that. Was 6 years old.

I wasn't even born then but was there a bit of a power struggle between Ron Saunders and the players and do you think that was a small factor?

Don't think I've ever thought 'how the hell did we lose that?', my earliest memories of City were when we were the shittest of shit so I've come to expect the worst in every situation. But probably one of the ones where I thought 'fucking hell City, not again' was Everton I think, where it took a similar course to the Boro/Bolton matches and I think Dunney gave away a corner at the end when he was under no pressure and could have left the ball for the goalkeeper. And the rest doesn't really need explaining.

Remember the Fulham game at the end of Sven's season we were 2-0 up and cruising. Somehow we collapsed late on and lost 3-2, Fulham had looked dead and buried and certain for relegation had they lost but they went on to stay up thanks to that. Had they been relegated there's a good chance their manager might have lost his job and wouldn't have gone on to become manager of England...

In the bolton game I'm sure we hit the bar twice with one attempt at one stage. Can't remember who it was smacked a header off the bar, it went straight up in the air, came back down, hit the bar again and went out for a goal kick!

Sibierski!

The one that sticks in my mind the most was Boro at home under Keegan or Pearce where they didn't have a single shot on goal in the whole game, yet won 1-0 from a Sun Jihai own goal, and Mendietta missed a 1 on 1 in the last minute that would have made it 2-0 from one shot at goal! That Bolton game may be from the same season, where we hit the post or cross-bar about 5 times, then Dunne handballs it in our area in the last minute.

Sunderland away 2010-11 season. Crazy atmosphere before the game, full of optimism and then we miss two sitters (Tevez and Adebayor). Was so gutted after that game, penalty in the last minute!

Awful ground to have the fans goading you as well... ;)

The Mackem's were fantastic on the last day of the season. The goading they gave us on New Year's day was great practice for them to rip into the rags. They really helped to rub their noses in it that day.

Yep, the Bolton and Boro games. You just knew it was going to happen.

I'd also mention the 2-3 defeat to the rags at Maine Road when we were 2-0 up at half-time.

This season it was the Swansea result. We lost to bloody Swansea.

Bolton at home in (i think) our first season at Eastlands. Night match in winter and we battered them for 89mins bafore they scored with their one solitary attack. Middlesboro did the same with a ravafuckinelli penalty which he won with the best dive ever witnessed on a football pitch.

Was such a comedy own goal as well. As I remember they lumped it forward to nobody and it just dropped on to Sun's shin about 30 yards out as he was running back to clear

Of all my darkest memories, Wolves 74, think Parkes was out injured aswell. Was my first final so always stuck, Halifax, Shrewsbury, Notts County and many more i was at, but the moment my heart broke was Luton and Pleat.
