Think you guys are under-rating Bale, Did you not see him vs Inter Milan and what he did to the worlds best RB in Maicon?

If Kolarov had electric pace, he'd be as good as Bale.

Bale is good, but not as good as people make out.

exactly. Kolorov is so underrated by us its unreal and Bale is sooo overrated its funny
 
If lots of players had electric pace they'd be just as good as a lot of other players. Fact.

I knew all the auntie and uncle sayings would come out after my comment but it's the truth. I'm not saying Bale is bad, but outside of his pace, everything he has in his locker can be matched by many many other players in the league. I also feel he lacks the ability to take a game into his own hands when his team are on the back foot and very often he looks anonymous. You don't see that happen when you talk about the best wingers in the world (Ronaldo, Ribery, Di Maria etc).

As I said, Kolarov as a wingback is brilliant, and he has been showing that all pre-season and in the CS game against Chelsea!

What I'm getting at is that if we bought Bale in the future it would be for about 40mil at least, and I don't think Kolarov+pace is worth 40million. I'd much rather stick with Kolarov who is vastly underrated, knows the squad/manager/playing philosophy well now, and on relatively low wages.

He'll leave next year when you don't get champs league. Not to us though, that window will have closed. Who do you think your next manager will be ?

For god's sake I knew someone would say this.

Miacon is a great right back but has no where near the pace of Bale so he just got skinned at every opportunity. Poor management by Inter in my opinion. Also Inter that season were just totally shite, and the fact they put 4 past Spurs says more about Spurs than it does about Inter.

But not to detract from your efforts in the Champs league that season it was a good effort by Spurs.

If you insist on quoting that game then fine, but since then I can't think of any other examples! It just doesn't happen. Not in the same way players like Yaya, Tevez, Rooney (unfortunately), Lampard, etc. do very often!
