Gareth Bale

He was played in the wrong position for most of last night. Ancelotti seemingly under pressure to play certain players despite the formation. Modric injured so rather than play a midfielder play Ramos... no Benzema so play Bale up top... Real looked more fluid when Bale was pushed wider and Hernandez came on. It's difficult when you have Rodrigues, Ronaldo, Isco and Bale all wanting to play across a 3 but they were all over the place.

Bale needs a new lease of life and he'd show his worth if he came back to England and was played in the right position. That Real team is all about Ronaldo and I think he's struggling to play a cameo. I'd have him at City 100% if the price was right. I do think we'd be better concentrating funds on Pogba and buying options like De Bruyne and Sterling who have the capability of being better than Bale. If we bought Bale his price is only going one way... Sterling, De Bruyne, Pogba - they're all likely to get better and their fee rise higher.

Totally agree with what you say, particularly about the price being right. Wasn't overly inspired last night but that could be as you say, being played out of position. Bit of a risk for me, but willing to be proved wrong.

Would love it :-)

Someone's going to be made scapegoat in Madrid... odds are it'll be Bale. Time's ripe for us to rescue him.
I bet he doesn't drive out of the ground in his own car tonight, once bitten......

If we could get him, I'd drop the Sterling pursuit in an instant. It's times like this when you strike for players like Bale, when their confidence is broken and people call him shit and hence when their price tag drops. Bring him back to the Premier League and he'll tear it up. Would United still want him after signing Depay? My guess is yes, just to stop us. He's that sort of player.
