Manchester United ‘on cusp of completing Gareth Bale transfer from Real Madrid’

Gareth Bale to Manchester United is almost a done deal, according to the Sunday Express journalist John Richardson.

Speaking on MUTV ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League clash with Juventus, Richardson claimed that the transfer is all but completed, with Bale’s treatment at the hands of the Madrid fans alleged to be the driving force behind the move.

‘I think it’s almost a done deal to be honest,’ he said.

‘I know somebody very close to Gareth Bale and the public are not hearing the real thing.

‘He’s very unhappy there and he’s unhappy with his treatment.’
Richardson’s claim was backed up by Telegraph journalist Mark Ogden, who agreed that a move is on the cards.

‘If I was a betting man and I had £50 spare to put on where he [Bale] would go, I think he’d end up here this summer,’ he said.

‘I’ve just got this feeling that United want him, they’ve got the money to do it.

‘Bale’s domestic situation is that his girlfriend and his daughter are living back in the UK, and he doesn’t speak the language.’

The former Tottenham man’s arrival at Old Trafford would mark a serious statement of intent from Louis van Gaal, who has already secured his first summer signing in the form of Memphis Depay.

Any deal for Bale would likely cost at least £80million, but that fee is likely to be within United’s reach as they prepare to reap the financial benefits of their record-breaking kit deal with Adidas.

If he joins the scum he is dead to me

Season ticket renewal season is upon us!

He's a bloody good chap is Gareth, it's terribly bad show how the Madrid fans are treating him.

He would be an absolutely marvellous signing for any team in England, particularly City given our need for a pacy, left-sided attacker.

I've no idea why we aren't being linked to Bale. Sterling may be younger but he will never have his end product. Ever.

With Bale it's even more obvious the media has only one goal for any player: Old Shiteford. It doesn't matter that Di Maria, Young, Depay and Bale (albeit not with Real because of Ladyboy) all play at, and like to come in from the leftside.

To be honest, if the media cared to be interested in football, they would have discovered it was not hard to see City are more in need than any of the PL-topteams for a leftsided mutlifunctional player Bale is.

On a personal note, Txiki might not see Bale as the perfect player to suit our style of football. Because acting in small areas he's not the best. Sterling, another lefty, could give us more width. Either one of them would suit me, with Nasri and Jovetic leaving.
I'd go for Bale who is also a bit older and won't hamper Barker in his development. Bale would be very eager to show he's a terrific player afterall, albeit not 100 million. Than again who is except for Messi and Ladyboy.

So you're saying the media should write that he's coming to City purely because we need that kind of player more?

It also irks me when people talk of him not being suitable for our 'style of play'; this season it's been clearer than ever that we are too one-dimensional and lack goals from the wide areas. It's also a naive point about us not requiring penetrative running, when our go-to weapon in the past 5 years has been Yaya Toure's destructive athleticism.

Anybody who claims Bale isn't good enough/suitable for us need to remember that our right wing has been manned by Navas and Milner this season, and that Bale has more goals and assists than our second most productive player David Silva.

Seems to make sense, if you've got £150 million to spend, best spend £115 million on left wingers to go with all the other left wingers. If they were true, with Tom Daly signing a new deal, they could fiesably line up with £200 million worth of left wingers, that's excluding left footed forward £40 million Juan Mata.

I hope they do sign Bale for £80 million, completely ignoring their central midfield, centre halves & full backs for another summer!

It seems as though Bale is crying out to be saved from his Madrid nightmare every time I watch him play recently; his confidence is completely shot. The rags don't need him but I'd still be gutted if they signed him. I'd hope we are at least enquiring about him.

Di Maria to PSG, then Bale to rags.

I think this is how its going to pan out. They certainly can't afford to have both plus Ashley Young, Mata and Valencia.

Di Maria will be off ski's and you'll see De Gea and Chicarito to Real in part exchange for Bale.

Would love us to get Bale. Brilliant player, can win a game off his own boot.

If he doesn't come here he can go to Chelsea, do not want to see him at the rags.
